lilmax: It's just a job, which men feel is beneath them. My colleague's cleaner is a man. Nobody is stopping men from being maids. Just as nobody is stopping women from being mechanics. Having a woman as a maid is not degrading women. It's a job! 3 Likes |

and what is wrong with the teachings in the text book? hu? is it not the right thing? Saying the text book is wrong is indirectly saying that the Bible and God's teaching is wrong. Man is the head who is suppose to provide and women is created for the sole responsibility to be a helper. isnt that what this text book is saying? abeg leave matter jor. 1 Like |

Funny though but that was how things were when the family structure was still intact. During such times, divorce was scarce. Nowadays, women are not loyal anymore, they rub shoulders. Ikeboboafri: |

I agree with this textbook It sounds like my ideal view of what a woman/wife/lady should be. but it should have added except on exceptional or special cases In the current way we are going as a world, The future and family may be more and more unhappy, disconnected, organized and peaceful as we know. |

Ugomajority: My dear the virtuous woman was also providing money, buying lands, doing investments read Prov 31. Do not add or remove. Most of the things men are peddling around are what the society taught them not from reading the bible 1 Like |

lilmax: I don't get it. I thought you were referring to 'maid' as a profession. My maid is a mother of three on minimum wage pay . . If you are talking of child labour then that is a topic for another day. PS: Boys are also taken from their parents as children and used as house helps. That is not restricted to the girl child alone. |

Ugomajority: And yet when women go for rich men and shun broke guys, you people start foaming through the mouth. Women are trained and nurtured to be caregivers from birth, they come prepared. But men do not want to hustle and make money. They marry women knowing fully well they are too poor to cater for the family responsibilities. They end up relying on their wives (who are already playing their roles as home makers), to support the family financially. The only reason 'women want to be like men' is because theymare now playing the role meant for men; it's only fair they get the same treatment as men. 2 Likes |

lilmax: Child labour is suffered by both boys and girls. However, i agree that Feminist should include children in the movement as women are the primary care givers. Children not just girls should be part of the focus. The children are the weakest in the society. |

koyyes: Sorry for quoting you, but people are not getting the full picture of what the text book is trying to say! The page was talking about STEREOTYPES, that is the general idea that PEOPLE HAVE about the roles of men and women. It was not saying those are actual roles. I am sure if we turn a few pages back we ll get the FULL PICTURE. Cheers |
