My Very Poor Experience With Whogohost by Atk1nson(m): 3:54am On Jan 16, 2019
Late last year, I made a decision to have a personal blog and made a decision to use a local web hosting service against some advice online. I chose WhoGoHost because my preliminary research suggested it was the best local player. It has less than 2 months using WhoGoHost, but honestly its even been worse than I expected.

I cannot count the number of times my site has been unavailable over this two months period. Twice I made an AdSense application, twice it was denied because the "URL was unavailable" and that is before this complete recent complete black-out which is currently in its third day!!!

I have reported this issue severally to their technical guys and following its continued persistence, its safe to conclude they will not or cannot resolve it.

It has not been a nice experience and I will not be recommending this service to anyone.

On the other hand, I will appreciate suggestions on a good web hosting company to use from experienced webmasters.

Why wi u go for local host that aren't ready for business... Namecheap is there for 10k, there are at times they do promo of 5k for a hosting account.

If it's too expensive for you, go over to godady with 4600 and you get a free domain plus. Although they have poor customer support

Wanted to consider Nigerian providers first as a good citizen, but was a very wrong decision. How can server be down for three days? Not even counting the routine intermittent outages. Before deciding to purchase the hosting services, I read online that they power GTBank's online banking. It's either that is a lie or they sell differentiated services to big and small customers.

Once I can log in, will do the transfer thing.

Somehow that has been my experience. I couldn't even get pass the 1st step of adsense registration because I have been severally told that my URL was nt accessible. I honestly think they have some good and bad servers and if you are placed on the bad servers, you'll regret ever using them because GT website (which I heard is powered by WGH) is always up.

I even noticed from the status report that another server has been down for almost 6 days now. How can a server be offline for 6 days?

How far with your migration? please send me an email (rakintade@gmail.com), I am having some challenges with my own
You are on WordPress abi? Download the xml file from your blog that contains all ur post, comments, media, etc and go over to your new host, install a fresh WordPress blog and import the xml file there.

Note : get the import and export tool under settings on your WordPress dashboard.

Please before you change your name servers make sure you have downloaded the xml files.

There is another way to go about the above which is to use a plugin to migrate your WordPress installation from the old host to the new one, I find this one too heavy. I did it 2017 from domainking to namecheap... Not too easy but the first option is very easy because you won't have to create a new database etc.

Yes, I use WP. The thing is they restored the site to a much earlier period so I lost a lot of my data. However, before this outage, I used a plugin called updraftplus to backup a fairly recent file. However, this plugin was I lost this plugin during the outage.

I intend to move to a new host, reinstall the plugin and restore the backup I made using the plugin back then.

The challenge now is I can't find the nameserver settings on WGH and they haven't responded to my request for it.

How can I locate the name server settings on whogohost?
