Thanks for all the encouragement and kind words. I only decided to write TEF sometime in September (didnt really know about the exam before then). Prior to then I was learning just to give me better opportunities when i get to Canada .

Well done...you put in a good effort..... look at that C1!!!!...especially since you just started in Q2 2018.

So listening: CO pls get prepmyfutur. I think it will help and listen to radio too...DAILY o. ..no shaking!!!!

As for speaking: EO. ...now we know how they do....prepare that in March...you may not have preparation time...also as advised by bellerin and NJ...just cram some generic phrases in case you get stuck.

It really depends on what you need. Getting B2 across all, gives you 16 points and an extra 30 points for being bilingual. So, the points you re aiming at will determine if you will need to rewrite.

It's good to know what one needs before writing the exam.

Some B2s (depending on your exact numerical score) will only give you 1 point sef. ..if it's a CLB 6

Also what you update on your express entry profile is not B1 or B2 but the exact numerical score.

This is spot on. I got a B2, B2, B2, C1 which only got me 10 points because one of them was a CLB6 level B2.

So aim for a minimum CLB7 across if you want the bonus points.

I think you get the 30 extra points of you have a minimum of CLB7 across board in TEF and also a good score in IELTS(can't recall the band right now)

[b]I started in April 2018. First ever french exam. Before April I only knew my primary school french.
[/b]Honestly I didn't take listening very seriously ( listening to french audio and all that. More like i didn't have time for it) but now I will actively listen.
For speaking I could have done better...I think i had exam fright plus I had no idea I wouldn't be given time to prepare. Now i have to do more verbal communication in French ( yeah I speak French mostly in my head )

Am sad I have to retake the exam but now I know I will go in much better than I did in November.

For others waiting for your result...I wish you success.

So...... trying to regroup after TEF....

Apparently AF offers refresher classes on Saturdays......9 am to 1pm for 5 Saturdays before the TEF EXAM...not as hectic as I thought. .... I wish I had this info before

This may help someone who feels they need assistance in the run up to the exam

I am curious though, why is the score just 8? I thought the 2 B2 and the C1 will add up to 9, while the B1 will be 1 point?
