Good day Nigerians from different parts of united states. Please did anyone recently changed or adjusted his/her visa status from B1/B2 tourist visa to either green card or F1 student visa since 2018 or since trump became president? Please share your experience on how it went. Thanks.

Yes! I entered USA with visit visa on March 26, 2018. Applied for change of status in July 2018, went for interview at USCIS New Jersey in September 2018, got my letter in the mailbox on 14th January, 2019. Status changed to permanent residence. Prayers worked
Did you secure a job or something?
How did you go about it?

Why would you leave Nigeria to search for "greener pasture" in Jordan?

Don’t fill your SSN on websites you’re not sure of. The best way to start your job search would be physical places like fast food restaurants, cashier jobs etc.

Guard your SSN wisely so you don’t get your identity stolen.

Start with the following monster.com, careerbuilder.com, indeed.com, and LinkedIn. All these sites have companies reporting job openings to them, it is more efficient/time saving to do it this way. Then any business you may want to work for fast food, convenience, health care, etc, go to their website and look for their career section. Nowadays companies have mostly done away with paper applications, the jobs are posted in real time, and your application reaches human resources faster when submitted online. And do not put your ssn in suspicious sites and be careful using public wifi also.

You guys. I found this video quite interesting. Forget the ignorance of oyinbo about Africa and African countries and listen to the fat man describing Nigerians living in Houston.

That’s good. My first job was at Papa Johns in Dallas, TX. In 1997. But you can get a better job if you keep looking. Don’t settle for a particular job, always try to better your job opportunities. But above all that is education, update your education for a better future opportunities. Good luck.

Minimum wage doesn’t really matter much because cost of living tends to move up with wages. Amazon is a good company to work for depending on what you do there. Focus on the big picture, ‘education, experiences and certifications ‘. and PLEASE PROTECT YOUR CREDIT HISTORY, thank me later.

Holy God, within a month you were able to get 2job offer, one of which is in a reputable company like Amazon. That's really hard to come by in a country like Nigerian. You're so lucky, pls try to make good use of this lifetime opportunity, get more certification. God bless your hustle. Stay beautiful!!!
