I Am Taking Up Religion. by budaatum: 9:44pm On Jan 14, 2019 |
Let me first say that this is going to be a work in public. The thread title might change, even this very post may be continously revised. The beauty is the version you quote will be uniquely stamped with your name on it, hint! Saturday, I bought the book in the first picture. I already got one, but found this in a charity shop for £3 and couldn't resist and started reading the introduction when I got it home. it excludes 1 and 2 Esdras (3 and 4) and the Prayer of Manasseh, which irked me, so I went looking and found the book in the third picture (subsequent post). It was recommended to Dylan by the Door to door salesman. Dylan read it in January 2009 and said this: "This book was terrible. The characters are two dimensional, the plot is all over the place and the author can't keep his story straight. Then halfway through they just introduce a new protagonist out of nowhere who dies within 4 chapters and they spend the rest of the book trying to work out what his deal was. Genesis and Numbers are a huge yawn fest, I'm not even sure what the lengthy genealogies and census information had to do with the fisherman because everybody dies in the end anyway. This book is huge. Oh my god, it's soo long. I thought Lord of the Rings was big. The only consolation is that it's so big and heavy my wife sometimes uses it to press flowers, which is fine by me because I wouldn't lend this book to anyone. Me liked but just make sure "I Am Taking Up Religion. by budaatum: 9:44pm On Jan 14" is a religion that has no faults in it, a religion you cant fault or is a religion that is faultless. 1 Like |

MuttleyLaff:All human acts have faults muttley, since we are not perfect, so 'imperfection' should not be the demonic excuse for doing nothing. Nice hot water in the shower one day when the showerhead says, "buda, you a perfectionist". "Me?" Asked buda, hot water washing down face. "Yeah you", says showerhead. "buda, you are a perfectionist". buda look at the showerhead nice hot water washing off head and goes, "You're tripping. I ain't no perfectionist I ain't never done anything perfectly in my life!" Showerhead goes, "exactly". And kept showering hot water on buda head. It took a while, but buda eventually realised buda didn't do anything because buda wasn't perfect. In response to your question. Everything in the link below except the following, does not define the religion I plan to take up. Some religions place an emphasis on I am choosing your definition of religion and applying it to 'read turn page' a religious book. Though, I must confess that I'm considering listening to it instead, now that I'm remembering how long it took the first time! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Yippee! My book arrived. 90 books in one single volume! You'd think that was enough, but notes alone are like half a page with another 150 pages of essays, tables, bibliography, glossary and index tagged on at the end, and a forward to every book. No wonder many never get through the entire book. Even I wonder how I got through it the first time! And I wonder if that's the reason some turn to atheism. One, after all, can't comprehend Yahweh without reading the Yahweh book. I reckon I'd have to start my threescore and ten all over again to get through this copy. Hopefully, I won't be using it as a door stopper! 2 Likes 1 Share

futurist369:Well. I was told God, i mean Jesus, created the world and created Man in his image and likeness. But i looked around what i saw didn't seem so. For, how can God create an earth this painful to live in. Why all this sickness, sorrow, hunger, fear of uncertainties and then death which will send me to hellfire? How can Man be like God is if man is this wicked to a fellow man? What is the essence of life if we are all gonna die anyways? Why God create Man? I was angry with God, very angry why he'd create me and send me down here without asking if i wanted to come. He knew that no man can escape sin, i found it very wicked of him to bring people here to suffer and proceed to Hell. Why is the need? So, since they said the Bible is the word of God, I figured He must have put some answers in there, so i began to read it earnestly. Book by Book. Character by Character. Event by Event, then i found it in Isaiah. And, i discovered why things are the way they are now, for from the beginning it was not so. The Answer is in the Bible. You don't have to believe what it says, but it holds the answers. When i saw it, i stopped searching and began asking for my personal purpose. What is my purpose on earth? was my quest. Why am i here? I found it too. Oh, this is not in the Bible, this is personal. sitting with Him. Opening up to Him, asking questions based on what i saw in the Bible. Asking Him to show me, and He did. Now i know what life is, what Love is and where i will be when i do what. |

futurist369: Forget about religion. Learn about Master Satan. The bible speaks from the perspective of the vengeful crazy god of the Christian who had no problems wiping out a world he created. The advice I can give is learn about all religions not one, when you have a feel for how they are all organized you will not waste time of learning new ones and you will learn a feel for the crap they are. One of the truths about Satan is that when man was created like a drone to serve the wimps of the gods forever, Satan had mercy and gave us the means to become like Gods themselves. 1 Like 1 Share |
