Very wrong my brother. Slower than cobra & mamba when striking. But you may have less than 15 minutes to say your last prayers if bitten.

Like virtually all viperids, it's exquisitely deadly.

A grown puff ader like this should be AVOIDED at all cost.

But I'm in support of preserving them if caught to be used for anti-venom production.

This is not a python. This is a Gaboon Viper.
One of the deadliest snake in the world.
Unaggressive and warns predators with a long-hissing sound. When it strikes, its fangs holds on to the victim for a long time, emptying the venom completely in the victim.

Without an immediate and correct anti-venom the victim is dead in minutes. Even with an antivenom, you may still need to amputate the bitten part.

Last warning: Do NOT eat it.
