Hamzat says that, for example, at the Lekki Toll Gate, everybody is heading towards VI in the morning and traffic is high in that direction. They could make it free to head towards VI in the morning and increase the number of lanes, while those heading towards Lekki will pay tolls.


Jimi Disu asks if Hamzat will leave the tollgate or knock it down.

Hamzat says that the budget of Lagos is less that the budget of the NYPD and it's also less than the budget of the FDNY, so it needs all the money it can get

This is silly, in my opinion. If you make it free, all the people that use the alternative routes will start plying the toll gate route.

Yes, he is far better. Another breed of Fashola but Hamzat himself said he stepped down for Sanwo-olu on religious grounds.

I saw him on 60 minutes with Angela, and he openly rubbished the idea of using the idea of using the religious cards to define what governance should look like. He said he's not contestir not because he's a Muslim, but because he wants to serve . Development doesn't have religion.

He was prevailed on to step down and take the position of a deputy because they knew the Fashola bloc was growing in voices...they(the Tinubu's bloc) had to give that position.

It Adeboye and CAN that started that religious madness in 2015. They succeeded in putting religion in Lagos politics.

The governor they opposed was Bola Tinubu not Fashola,according to the interview. You may want to edit this.

He said that Fashola brought a proposal to expand the Opebi Link Bridge, but they said that the project should be done by PPP.

Fashola replied that all these PPP people do not have money, but they insisted that it should be done by PPP.


The project was never done and Hamzat said that they regret opposing Fashola. He said that it would have been easier to expand the bridge back then because there were fewer houses there then.
