Yours truly is so excited and elevated today. Try and guess why. Haha! No have not yet killed Shekau. Check your calendar; even I too almost forget yesterday was was my birthday. I just clock plus one here on earth. It was Mumcy that called me on the eve of my birthday (15th Nov.), to wish me and pray for me late in the evening in case network disappoint her on the Dday.

Yours truly, was at special duty at Gwoza, west to Sambisa Village, where Sambisa forest name was coin. The Sambisa forest is a forest in Borno state, northeast Nigeria, about 60 kilometres southeast of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state. The Sambisa forest especially the mountainous region of Gwoza near the Cameroon border, is used as shelter by the Jihadist Boko Haram group and is believe to where they keep the hostages from Chibok schoolgirls kidnapping in April 2014.

Yours truly was part of the gallant men and women deploy for the operation, to dominate recovered territory and clear all Nigerian territory of Boko Haram vestiges. My unit was station at Gwoza to checkmate the terrorist, prevent their escape and stop any possible reinforcements from Cameroon that may want to come to their aid.

After days of intensive fighting, carpet bombing by the NAF gunship, rescuing of women and children been held and destroying three of their camp near Kawuri and Konduga. We were able to restore communications that when Mumcy called me on the 15th November to wish me happy birthday in advance.

Diary, you can see how busy I was that I forget that tomorrow is my birthday. After Mum called I decided to go grab a ration (as no cake) to use and celebrate.
Have not yet reached the supply tent when my unit commander ask us to fall in (gathering for instructions and directive) when we finally gather around I knew something was wrong for the way his voice tremble as he address us "officers, ranks and files, I bring you sad news, we just lost three Mi-35 gunship with their crews and and"
The way he was struggling to say the next words "I need two volunteer to go on rescue mission, one of the 35 is cripple near BH strong hold with four crew members onboard with injuries."
Everywhere was dead silent

Dairy, is not everyday that your unit commander ask two volunteer to go on suicide mission. He could have just pick the two volunteer cause we still have soldiers that's on the front line that's willing to die for us as soon as we give the orders. What a tough decision to make.
"So I looked, and behold, an ashy pale horse, and its rider's name was Death..." just kept flashing across my mind I don't know where have read that. Dairy, I just kind of know that I have to go on the mission I'm not gonna let someone else's coffin rest on my conscience.

"Sir, I will go." with confident step I made my way forward. I only got one shot to do right and is tonight.
"Oga, I dey go"
You can see how the look of surprise glow on my face and everyone present. You guess right. It Zainab Hamid7 aka Silensa voice.

My unit commander was speechless. He didn't expected me and Silensa to volunteer. One, am the youngest of age with no combat experience except from the advance training I received from military school and Sanddust college of war. Two Zainab, she till recovering from gunshot wounds she sustain from Kawuri (you know her she's strong headed she refuse to go for treatment). Well nothing much my commander could say or do fate has already spoken.

When Our unit commander finish briefing us on the mission I now fully understand his fear. We be dropped deep in heart of Sambisa forest, we have less than twenty mins to rescue the crew before BH reach them. No air support because command don't want to lose another bird.

The story.
As a teen, 18 actually, that's pretty much still teenage, I used to think a lot about my to-be wife.
I thought a lot about sex too, but, that's pretty much normal for a teenager. My to-be wife was an obsession. I'd imagine how we'd meet, where we'd meet, what she'd be like. My fantasies usually had her chocolate skinned, trim, pretty and smart.
I hardly ever thought about us making love. Those fantasies were usually of other women, random women....

After much navigation through the forest. We reach the crash site but could not located the pilots or their black box.

It's seem they manage to eject before the crash. And from the looks of it their jet was hit by a surface-to-air-missile (SAM). Only God knows where they got the SAMs.

Our window and chance for exfil was closing the longer we stay, any minute from now the terrorist will be arriving to clam the shot bird. I was face with the hard choice of returing back without the pilots or till stay on and continue the search and risk capture.
