I am so glad to have found this thread. I have been motivated by the profs and Dr's in the house.. You guys have stirred up the research interests in me.

B.Agric Animal Science (completed)
Msc and PhD(in-view)

Skills : I am an intermediate-level user of SPSS,SAS.

Research areas: Animal products and/or meat science!

Any advice for me? prof @wip7

Please how can I create a new career path in the Agricultural field, specifically Animal science?

I studied Medical Lab science in my first degree in South-South Nigeria.

Just discovered I got passion for animals although I graduated over five years ago. A Dr in FUNAAB is of the opinion that I won't be given a PGD in "Animal Production and Health" (Pig Production) my priority.

Please any heads up?

If that's the case sir. I would suggest you take up a part time study, in this field for a B (agric)... Because your initial study area seems far from the subject area, many schools if not all will not accept you for pgd...

Or better still search through schools within Nigeria or outside which has flexible requirements to absorb you in for a Bsc programme.. Or probably masters programme..( check up university of manitoba)

Check up with university of guelph, university of alberta in canada. They give room for those who studied science related(life sciences) to do some preliminary studies before being absorbed into their masters programme...

I would suggest you send mails to the graduate degree coordinators of those schools for enquiries on this issue.

Good Evening House,

I am in urgent need for help with regards to PhD in Canada or USA. First and Second Degree was Finance and Management related in Nigeria and UK respectively.

I have tried contacting some schools like UNB but unfortunately they don't offer PhD in management related courses.

Previous degrees results were very good

Not really in need of funding, I just need admission.

Please, I will be very grateful if I can get any help, suggestions etc.

Thanks in Advance

My Latest SCI PUBLICATION (January 2019): A novel magnetic mesoporous resin for recovery of phenolics from oily wastewater and its reuse for industrial applications

Publisher: Journal of Porous Materials, SCI article by Springer

Summary: Petroleum and various oily wastewater contain dangerous (if exposed to higher dose) but industrial useful phenolics. In my lab, we focussed on the fabrication of highly porous resins with high exchange capacity for recovery of the phenolics from simulated and industrial oily wastewaters. The recovered phenolics were purified and processed to be used in cosmetics industries.

Research: Carried out at Cyprus science University and Eastern Mediterranean University. Purified recovered products have been graded and sold to Ataks Cosmetics in Turkey for soap and body lotion formulations.

ALL OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL charges. The journal has reverted to open access now. Hence authors pay for that.

Kindly publish in the rest of the journals listed earlier for you. It is not a must you have to publish in OPEN ACCESS. Publish in the ones listed here.

1. Food Research International (SCI and Impact factor of 3.52)

2. Meat Science (SCI and Impact factor of 2.81)

I want to thank wip7 for his effort in educating us on the PhD route. I would chip in my advise here. In PhD what matters most is these two things; your argument and your contribution to knowledge. Your argument supports the findings you make and seeks to answer the question why those findings matter to the general discourse. You cannot say you found out the sky is black without saying your own words why the sky is black. Your explanation about it might not make sense to all but might sense later but you have proven to all and sundry that you understand the background that led to your findings. Then contributions to knowledge can come in any form, nobody expects to make ground breaking discoveries but rather to advance knowledge. For example you might apply a technique or theory to a new setting as prof wip7 did, you can combine techniques as well, you can criticise a technique, you can also implement a technique or theory and so on. So this is my advise to would be phd students.

Hello everyone! I am new here

B.Tech Industrial Physics (Electronics Option).......FUTO
M.Sc Applied and Engineering Physics (Energy Science Option)......TU Munich, Germany

I am interested in sustainable energy materials for energy storage and energy sources like Solar energy,
Wind energy, Fuel cells, Electrocatalytic processes and Electrochemistry in general. My master thesis is on the Electrodeposition of Refractory metals from ionic liquids.

@wip7 any advise for me concerning a PhD?

I will advise you focus still on Sustainable energy generation and storage and special focus can be directed towards (fabrication of various supercapacitors anode/cathode, design, enhancing the efficiency for larger storage. I have good interests on paper-like and mobile fordable energy storage system).

Also, Microbial and hybrid fuel cells is another key renewable energy research areas which bio-energy can be generated. Hence, you may look at generating and storing!

You will need some chemistry (material synthesis skills)!

Best wishes!

You can send a PM or ask your questions here and I'll simply answer as much as I can.

Also, when you say that you're going for your master degree program this summer, do you already have an admission from a university here?
This is because application for the summer semester (April resumption) ended on the 15th of January.

Dear Friends,
I have a question please. I am about to commence an Mphil in Transportation in Nigeria. After the Mphil, is there any possibility of getting funding (i.e full scholarship) to do the PhD itself in any good school (possibly in Germany, UK, US or Canada)? I mean if I am able to get very good grades upon completion of the Mphil?
I have a first degree in Urban and Regional Planning, and a Masters in Environmental pollution control. The prospective
Mphil, as I stated earlier, is in Transportation.
Thanks guys...

Scholarship funding solemnly rest with the funding institution. No one can tell exactly how 100% is sure, but you can try Swedish university scholarship
