Living for Christ means doing all things to please Him in your everyday activities and actions. Any child who is not living for Christ will live to please Satan. This type of life will lead to eternal suffering in hellfire. Therefore, you must live for Christ. The best decision we can ever make is to determine to live for Christ, to stand for His truth wherever we find ourselves. The Christian life is exciting but also challenging. There will be periods of temptations and trials, weakness and pain but our hope remains in the truth that God will never leave or forsake us. So, stop shying away from letting others know you are a Christian. Constantly go everywhere telling others about Jesus, stop trying to please everyone, decide to live only for Jesus. Live for Christ both day and night, be faithful, be brave and true, leading the lost to life and light. frosbel2: The word of God said in 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering towards us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." He's just being patient with the world, so that men can come to repentance. But do you know that anyone that dies now, his own Jesus has come? because there's no more chance for repentance for such a person. What will you do when you grow old and die and then you found out there's heaven and there's hell, but you did not prepare for heaven. Where do you think you will find yourself? Jesus told a crowd of people, that He did whatever He saw the Father do. In other words, He is obedient and faithful to the Father. Jesus' example encourages us also as God's children to be like our heavenly Father in all our ways. God is holy and good in all His ways. Jesus came to reveal God to us in humankind. All those who receive Him are given power to become children of God, have the holy Character of God, follow Jesus' example and do exactly what He would do in every situation. When also you are faced with any situation or decision to make, you can have the grace to do right by asking the questions "what would Jesus do?" Just as the Father loves Jesus He will also love you when you obey and do what He commands. Thou hast the words of eternal life" (John 6:68). After many of His followers deserted Him, Jesus asked the twelve disciples if they also have decided to go away. Peter in his usual straight forward way, answered for all other disciples: "Lord to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of etemal life" He was sure there was no one else to go to. Jesus Christ alone had the words of eternal life. He is the Son of the Living God. People search everywhere hoping to find 'life' or 'fulfilment' through many other sources like education, relationships, money, achievements, entertainment, drugs etc. But none of these provide fulfilment and the needed satisfaction for man's thirsty soul. Only Jesus can save and satisfy the longings in our souls. Jesus Himself says, He is the way, the truth and the life? Give Him your whole life, remain His permanent friend, you will be satisfied and have eternal life. • PRAYER: Lord, I believe that Jesus alone is the source of eternal life. (1 Kings 3:9). People generally want many things apart from the things that they need. This makes it difficult for them to know exactly what to pray for. When God told Solomon to ask Him for anything he wanted, he knew what he needed at that time. He asked God for wisdom. His request pleased God, because it would help him to fulfil His will. As a result, God gave him riches and honour besides the wisdom he asked for. You can also follow Solomon's example. You may pray for godly character and virtues like love, patience, self-control, gentleness, wisdom, all that will help you please God and point others to Jesus. Whenever you have needs, you should never be afraid to ask God in prayer. He loves to answer the prayers of His children. God answers prayer. Whenever things go wrong, we sometimes conclude that it must be God dealing with us. We blame God for everything. But it is often not true, as we see this case of Naomi. She blamed God for the deaths of her husband and two sons. Naomi did not blame herself and her husband for taking an important decision of life of relocating their entire family to a foreign land without seeking God's guidance. Naomi and Ruth returned to Bethlehem as two poor widows. However, we can see some things Naomi could thank God for, instead of complaining: (i) God's preservation and protection of their lives on the journey back to Jerusalem (ii) God's hand in directing Ruth to Boaz's field (iii) Ruth faithfulness, love and kindness to Naomi as her mothers-in-law. (iv) Prosperity resulting from Ruth's marriage to Boaz and the blessing of a baby boy. A group of children made careless jokes of Elisha the messenger of God and paid for it with their lives. Does it sound harsh? God has a reason for allowing this. He wanted us to learn how He frowns at bad use of our tongue and careless jokes. Abusing and insulting, murmuring and complaining against leaders and elderly people are common among the children of the world today. This is one mark that we are in the last days. Many children mock and disrespect elders and godly teachers because of their physical posture due to ageing. Leaders, elderly people in the church and servants of God need to be treated with respect and honour. We need to pray for them and speak words of appreciation to them instead of mocking them. Use your tongue right and save yourself from trouble. SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FRIDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2019 CHAMELEON TEXT: Genesis 19:3-9 "And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them" (Genesis 19:5). A chameleon is an animal of the frog family. It has the ability to blend with the colour of any environment it finds itself. God has given it this nature to protect itself from the danger of bigger animals. A child that lives like one of the crowd, blending into any social environment he finds himself can be called a chameleon. Lot was like a chameleon in Sodom. He had lived so long among ungodly people that he was no longer a true witness for God. When the Sodomites wanted to commit immorality with the angels, Lot volunteered to give his virgin daughters rather than say no and stand for what was right! Lot had allowed his environment to change him, rather than changing his environment. Do people around you know that you are a friend of Jesus? Or you are like Lot, a chameleon? Just one of the crowds? blending into the bad behaviours in your environment? If you want to make a difference, you must first decide to be different by giving and living your life for Jesus. Adam and Eve's disobedience brought sin with all its consequences unto the human race. They had thought their sin (eating a harmless piece of fruit) wasn't a very bad idea, but soon noticed how quickly it made them to suffer great loss. Also, the sin habit developed in the lives of their children. Adam and Eve disobeyed God, but Cain their son rebelled against God and killed Abel his brother. A small sin has a way of growing out of control. It is like a little fire that burns down the great farmers acres of grain field. It is generally observed that sins in children usually begin with 'a little or small lie'. What Ananias and Sapphira's considered to be little lies led to their untimely death. Are you being controlled by sinful habits? The best way to break free is to humble yourself, recognizing you are a helpless sinner, surrender to Jesus and tell Him to help you, turn away from those sins, ask for God's forgiveness and cleansing with His Blood and He will set you free. • PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from sin and save me. • FURTHER READING: Acts 5:3-5! SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN DAILY DEVOTIONALS GUIDE SUNDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2019 TRUE FREEDOM IN JESUS TEXT: JOHN 8:30-36 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). There was once a caged bird that could fly in the sitting room with netted windows for only half an hour every day. This bird makes joyful noises as he flies unrestricted in the netted sitting room to show that he enjoys his daily limited freedom. After the half hour, he was always locked up in his cage till the next day. Boys and girls that have not been set free from sin through salvation that is in Jesus Christ are like this bird. They only enjoy limited freedom that is constantly terminated by Satan's affliction such as sickness, failure, sorrow, lack, nightmares etc. Going to fellowship or participating in special church programmes provide only short relief. Until a person repents and turns away from his or her bad ways, ask for forgiveness and cleansing in the blood of Jesus, he or she cannot enjoy the total freedom that Jesus promised. The freedom Jesus offers give the power to be totally free from sin and grace to do the right things that please God. Are you truly free? If you are not, you must repent today and allow Jesus into your heart. Jerry gave his life to Jesus a few days before his 10th birthday. He was surprised that his mom for the first time bought a big birthday cake. Jerry in his excitement, asked his mum the reason for the big birthday cake since it was not the culture in their family to celebrate birthdays. His mother said that everybody has a birth date, the day that a person was born into the world by his mother after nine months of pregnancy. But that the day a person realizes he should not continue in sin, forsakes his bad ways and surrender his life to Jesus is the real birthday that is worth celebrating. A day of memorial, the day that one is born again; born into the kingdom of God and made fit for heaven. The day when one escape the danger of everlasting punishment in hellfire and pass from death to life. That important day when Jerry repented and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and Lord is the real birthday. Do you have an account of such a day in the history of your life? "..
