With all that u’ve said can u explain to me why nigeria has the largest no of poverty in the world after India ..?

Did you go out there and count them yourself?

The reality is that we do NOT know the numbers because we (shamefully) do not even know how many we are. We also have little or no means of tracking the massive informal economy (and any informal wealth) in Nigeria. So there may well be more poor people than ESTIMATED or less, but the one CERTAINTY that we know for sure is that NOBODY knows the number of poor people in Nigeria because NOBODY counted them or even counted Nigerians for that matter. Sadly, what passes for “education” and/or public commentary in many parts of Africa is to simply cram-and-regurgitate (built upon the worn “repeat after me” chant of most African teachers) the narrative of others. Dude, you are about to score an own-goal. grin

Springfield Ashburton was linked to Deziani Alison-Madueke’s massively corrupt oil-lifting regime, and therefore its Nigeria business suffered when the NNPC terminated all Offshore Processing Agreements (in fact, the NNPC no longer does OPA transactions at all), but the Okyere dude reportedly helped out Deziani by purchasing her £4.5 million house in London. Not exactly the sort of ‘investors’ we are looking for.
grin grin grin grin
as long as his agreement with NNPC has not been terminated
he's still lifting.

Get it right buddy. Lagos’ (not Nigeria’s) GDP is almost three times Ghana’s GDP.
Nigeria’s GDP is about TEN TIMES (or more) the size of Ghana’s and Nigeria has a BETTER GDP per capita.

Again, I hate childish mudslings between people who should be be aspiring towards closer ties and brotherhood (because Ghanaians and Nigerians probably share the most cultural and other commonalities among all sub-Saharan Africans or at least among West Africans), but rest assured that there is NO rational basis for economic comparisons between Ghana and Nigeria.

BTW, not to belabor this tedious discourse, but FYI Ghanaian companies do not invest in Nigeria because they do not have the capacity (financial or otherwise) to do so nor frankly anything of comparative advantage to offer. But of course you are free to share with us where else (that is, other than a Nigeria) Ghanaian companies have invested in any significant manner....go ahead, we are waiting. cheesy
first of all Nigeria GDP is 6 times that of Ghana
Ghana will forever have a better standard of living for it citizens than Nigeria can ever reach in 50 years

But Nigerians will never stop hating on anything Ghanaian when Ghanaians don't even care about their existence grin grin
you guys are just childish. while we are busy trying to build our citizens up and develop our society
to the level of the Asians, you guys are busy doing your comparisons at every turn. Ghana is not the only country in Africa for you guys to compare your country to.
we don't want our society to start belittling itself to the level of Nigeria

Ghana does not seek brotherhood to a xenophobic society,
especially one that it has no culture entanglement with.

Let me thread down your write up into the dustbin
first of, Ghana have lots and lots of franchises that are in the Nigerian economy and worth more than a billion dollars
we just dont want to make them known to your citizens because you their xenophobic tendencies
https://www.forbes.com/sites/mfonobongnsehe/2018/08/27/meet-the-38-year-old-entrepreneur-who-built-a-1-billion-oil-company-in-ghana/
we have closed to 20 companies already in the nigerian economy
from your oil industry to real estate to technology.

your country has never received more fdi than Ghana in reality and scale
Buhari told you Ghana owe your country grin grin grin grin
so you also bought that dumb statement ......
Buhari chopped the money.

Ghana will not pay monies for gas that you dont supply
since the contract was signed, Nigerian has never supplied the amount of gas they were contracted to supply.
Ghana will keep withholding payment until you live up to the spirit of the agreement.

it wasn't Nigeria that built the pipeline
who told you that lie ? grin grin grin grin
Your country didnt know what to do with gas and they were busy flaring it
until Ghana decided to build a pipeline from Nigeria and ask Benin and Togo to be offtakers
it just happens that nigeria contributed the largest amount when they were asked to take part.
That is why, Ghana has since been the one managing the pipeline.

i have never come across an oil producer that wait for customers to build their own pipeline before
thats the sorry case of Nigeria grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

next time you want to argue , do it with facts
not your sentiments
your country is big but has nothing
yet it citizens never seize on trying to make it important than it is
Okay now this comment reeks of sentiment.
You have lots of companies in Nigeria worth up to a billion dollars, but we don't know about them because you are hiding them because of our xenophobic tendencies?? Tell me this is a joke...
First of all Nigeria doesn't have any xenophobic tendencies, there has never been a case when Nigerians just launched attacks on foreigners and foreign investments. It has NEVER happened, so why make things up just to prove your point??
You could atleast cite an instance.
If you have ever been in Nigeria, one thing you will notice is that Nigerians are generally rather oblivious to the presence of foreigners in our midst, we don't care. We don't know who they are, we take no notice of them, they just come in and flow with the crowd. More so, when Nigeria has over 200 ethnic groups, you won't even know who is a foreigner or whose Just from a different ethnic group.
Were not like Ghanaians, southeees, kenyans and most other Africans that take out time counting the number of foreigners in their country.. Loool
And secondly ,,how the heck do you hide a company worth over a billion dollars in a foreign country ??
That's the line I'm hoping is a joke, please tell me it's a joke... Lool
Why not tell me the companies you have here??
Just a name and I'll consult a search engine.
You even mentioned our oil and gas sector
Which of the sectors players are from Ghana??
Total? Shell? Exxon Mobil? Perhars Agip or chevron.
Abi is it our own NNPC??

But what is wrong with Nigerians and dick measuring? I just dey shame for my country. Instead of showing solidarity to a neighbor and hear their side of the story, we have swallowed the US part as the truth. What brought Lagos's GDP vs Ghana's GDP into the matter? Must we always tell everyone how big our d*ck is when infact it's nothing? We should all be ashamed of ourselves.

With USA having a military base in Ghana, I am surprised that could pass such rules on them.

So many countries do not observe international agreements. Even USA threatens to break free from agreements. Take the climate stuff with France for example.

I think African nations should learn to build their prestige and reserve some honours for their image and for their citizens.

Inocent citizens would now be affected by the actions of some leaders who have diplomatic passports.

Such a shame.

Thanks my bro.... To hell with the US... They need us more than we need them. We can also impose sanctions on them. Who do they think they are. What pains me most are the countries who always claim they are big brother to Ghana. Listen to what they are saying. Big for nothing... I have always known that if Ghana had their kind of wealth and size, no western power can mess up in West Africa. Look at what France is also doing in the sub region.. By now Nigeria that always claim they are the giant should be able to mobilise the whole west Africa or ECOWAS to impose sanctions on France and the US. Remember what Nkrumah did when the world powers tried to dictate the price of his cocoa, he build siloa stocked the cocoa, the whites later came to him to beg for it at a time when it was scarce and he sold it to them at a higher price. They are rather the ones saying stupid things about Ghana.. I have said Ghana will show the way for the black race. It's just a matter of time. When Strife Masiyiwa was in Ghana sometime ago, this was what he said... I Will paraphrase it.... He said Ghana, 60 years ago, you start a revolution that saw the independence of the African continent, now the continent is counting on you to start another revolution that will usher us into development... That is my Ghana for you, small body, big brain , giant ambition and potential. We will pave the way for you Africa just count on us... O Ghana I have always known your potential far out ways all the gold, diamond and oil... Ghana Ghana Ghana oseeeee yieeeee.....

But you don't hear us boasting as if we are the ones who feed them. Or those Nigerian companies render free service to Ghanaians? you guys are just stupid. And you said you sell gas to Ghana below world price. Who lied to you. Boy get this into your head, Ghana BUYS gas from Nigeria. If you decide not to sell to us fine we can get from somewhere but to say you sell below price to us... OK boy stop deceiving yourself. Also you did not solely fund the the West Africa Gas pipeline... It is a joint venture... Thankbyou

Sorry dude, but I do not accord the dignity of a substantive response to anonymous folks who resort to CHILDISH personal insults and uncouth ad hominem attacks in public discourse. It either betrays the lack of a substantive argument or a crude upbringing. Bye Felicia!

Well I am sorry bro... I also considered most of your posts on this topic as insults to the good people of Ghana, hence my counter insults. It just gets so disheartening that Nigerians could take to public forums and say all sort of nasty things about a neighbour. While I apologise for my comment, I am glad you couldn't disprove any of what I said. That.

There are a number of Ghanaian companies doing well in Nigeria, who wouldn't want to take advantage of a 180 million market. To say Ghanaians do not have the financial muscle to do that is an insult. I have mentioned a number of them. You can check them out yourself.

Nigeria did not solely build the West Africa Gas Pipeline and the gas supplied is not free neither is it below world market price. I have read this erroneous statement time and again on this forum. Nigeria just has the majority share, and Ghana has quite a significant share in it as well.
In fact the amount of gas from Nigeria is less than what Ghanagas alone produces.

What I have realised is that Nigerians do not spare the time to sing into our ears the size of their GDP. They mostly use Lagos ,lol. GDP gives very little picture of the reality on the ground. Angola with a population of 27 million has a GDP of 150 billion dollar, but they are nowhere near Ghana in human development index and yet they have a budget of almost 50 billion dollars.

All I am trying to say is both Ghana and Nigeria can build a strong bond and establish a hegemony that will limit French and US influence in the region. Once again I apologise. Peace
