President Muhammadu Buhari has said the crisis surrounding the candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State will be resolved before the elections.

The presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled to hold on Saturday while the governorship and state assembly elections would follow on March 2.

Following conflicting court judgements, INEC had excluded Zamfara APC from fielding candidates for the governorship as well as national and state assemblies.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of party faithful in Gusau, yesterday, as part of his campaign tour to states, Buhari said crises had rocked the party in about eight states, adding that some of them were pending in courts.

He, however, expressed optimism that the Zamfara issue would be resolved before the elections.

Buhari who did not speak about the state of security particularly in Zamfara State, said he would be fair and just to all as promised when he took oath of office in 2015, adding that the cardinal objectives of his administration remained securing the nation, improving the economy and fighting corruption.

The National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said PDP can’t get Zamfara State for free as APC would participate in the forthcoming elections in the state.

“The votes in Zamfara State are ours and INEC can’t change what is ordained by God. PDP stole our common wealth, they sold NITEL and said they would sell other national assets to enrich their cronies but Nigerians will stop them,” he added.

Governor Yari said APC in the Zamfara State had faced challenges but that the party would survive them and come out stronger.

“Mr president, we will not force you to present our candidates today because the issue is yet to be permanently resolved; we approached the court and we got the judgement in our favour,” he said.

The crises plaguing the APC in Zamfara and Rivers states provides an insight into the selfcentredness and childlishness of an average Nigerian politician. If not for selfcentredness, why can't the contending parties come together and reach a compromise? There're enough positions to go round everybody but nah! They'd rather the party not present a candidate than for them to make some concessions. Be that as it may, Zamfara is for Muhammadu Buhari..... And that's my only concern

I think INEC isn't being fair to the APC on Zamfara.
The ruling from the state high court was as clear as daylight that the APC held primaries and must be included on the ballot.
While the FCT court was saying INEC has a right to bar the party from contesting at least from what all media reported.

Instead of INEC to appeal the very clear Zamfara high court order or comply, It's choosing which court order to obey or not.
This is very frustrating for the governor hence his outburst.

For the PDP, democracy is working now so they won't be crying to their colonial masters like cry babies.

read between the line. What the dullard is saying essence is that he would influence the judgement. They go trail the judge and threaten him under gun point to give judgement as they are doing in Onnoghen's case.
