The title is n act of parody to gainer more people to view this thread.

I'm really hurt guys... Yet I cannot tell why.
I'm sad yet I cannot tell why.

U bring a complex project to programming on this section, you see hundreds of people struggling the project, then I ask myself.... Is programming that easy?
This thing I've been doing for about a year now is it that easy?
I mean, I've built a forum like nairaland, a courier logistics website, a mini blog, a school fully working CGPA calculator and some other projects I wish not to share.... I saw the amount of thinking required to do this things from the very scratch, then I ask myself am I really dull?
The way Nairaland programmers boast of codes with over 100,000 line as if its nothing, then I must be a dull programmer.

The way Nairaland programmers rush big projects and promise to finish it within a week then I must be dull programmer.
Or is it because I'm working alone?
Why is life like this?

Why am I this dull and Nairaland programmers this smart?

A more honestly titled thread would hav garnered genuine attention e.g something like "Why am i so dull" or "Why am i so dull in programming". With this title of urs, half+ of d viewers will leave no response.

First, your title is too self defeating. An assertion reads differently than a question. E.g. a question beckons an answer. An assertion doesn't. E.g. if some1 says what do i do? The reader is prompted by the question and may want to help. It is different than if he say, I don't know what to do. The assertion is conclusive, the question is open ended.

That's that. On the programming issue, those ppl who write 100k lines of code ain't higher beings. I used to b intimidated by d sheer volume of code some software contain and wrongly thought that as a programmer,i had to be able to produce such massive output in so short a time, but, aas I tried to work on substantial projects(to me), I realized that I code at s certain rate. And it will take a certain amount of time to output programs of certain size. In Nigeria where electricity supply is very poor it can seriously limit it productivity. So when comparing urself with people who have better power supply and affordable internet and other resources, you'll always come up short.
Tl;dr : code size (output) is a direct function of input (time spent coding) rather than smarts.

In one of my projects, I saw how many lines of code I had. They were too many!

I asked myself if that was smart?

I rewrote many blocks and lines, converting up to 5 lines to a line and blocks to 1 block. Etc...

When I was through. I knew that complexity in minimal lines was smarter than thousands of lines.

If I post some of the codes here, some of you will have to go back to your pdf materials.
