The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) training camp and neutralized several terrorists at Malkonory in Northern Borno State.

This was disclosed by the director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola.

He said the operation was executed yesterday, 10 February 19, after Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft observed significant human activities with several structures, equipment and vehicles spotted camouflaged under the dense vegetation in the area used by the terrorists for training.

The NAF spokesman said in accordance with the intelligence gathered, two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet aircraft were dispatched to attack the location, dropping their bombs successfully within the camp leading to massive fires and resulting in the neutralizing of several terrorists.

Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) by NAF and allied ISR later revealed that the terrorists suffered heavy casualties as a result of the air strikes.

The NAF promised to sustain its efforts to completely destroy all remnants of the terrorists in the Northeast, while operating in concert with surface forces.

why is the title of the news different from the story? From the story, Boko haram attacked and soldiers killed them but your title is misleading

Troops of 143 Battalion, 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole deployed in Madagali, Adamawa State had on Saturday, 9 February 2019 successfully dealt a big blow to Boko Haram Terrorists(BHTs) following an attempted attack by the terrorists to infiltrate the Camp.

The terrorists who stormed the location in gun trucks and met their waterloo through stiff resistance coupled with massive fire power from the troops and inflicted serious casualty on the terrorists and their equipments. The troops in their effort successfully held their ground, disorganised the terrorists who later lost momentum and retreated in disarray.

Is that a picture of the fallen soldier or a BH terrorist? That poor excuse for a corpse cannot be or rather should not be for a Nigerian soldier. Uniform looks ragtagged, no boots on feet and rigor mortis looks like it has set in. If he was a soldier who died fighting, how long did it take for his comrades to locate him as he was supposed to be on d base? Many questions, no answers
