You speak of atlantis in negro continent where the land you speak of is landlocked you make me speechless i bet you cant even speak pidgin you're one of those yorubas who can't even speak english but force themselves to speak blunders in form of spoken English....it is quite understandable why so many yoruba are illetrate and bigoted when the yorubas student are taught in Yoruba language in thier school ....

Go and research on Atlantis before you embarrass yourself

What's up dude I just saw ur post so nice reply man I mean with the atlantis and ife being landlocked but if u have a brain u would know I said ife arts is phenomenal and far better than Benin second rate arts by the way did I ever mention i was Yoruba. I refuse to categorize myself as a Yoruba because I am against the colonial mentality that "all southwest" should be classified as "Yoruba". We were all tribes before ethnicity. That is why I love native America, they refuse to be address as an ethnicity but a tribe. I am just tired of hearing Too, Benin empire because these other tribe in Yoruba had empire. Let's other Yoruba tribes free ourselves from mental slavery and really I'm quite fluent in English by may guess I'm more fluent than u Neanderthal for the record how many Benin people are on the list of richestmen in africa. If i forget i may or may not be Yoruba. Don't try me little child or else I will destroy u like I did ur homeboy who got his butt handed to him by me face it I got this site on lockdown.

WOW u really got a beef with Yoruba people did a Yoruba girl break ur heart I mean really because blackpanther used ur art u act all fly like u acconplished something great when they didn't make ur language a must to learn like in Brazil ur people don't even have their own language. People keep mistaking it for Yoruba intact they even call it a dialect of Yoruba. To make matters worse you are nearly recognisable abroad black panther spoke Hausa I guess that makes Hausa better than your nearly recognisable language the film was filled
with more references from southern Africa that makes your tribe even more insignificant.

Listen man I think we got up on the wrong foot ur just trying to promote/celebrate your culture but u could do that without belittling other tribe. I admit u do got a point Yoruba people like claiming everything that is why I never argued about oyo because has I said before it may or may not existed . I don't like calling all southwest Yoruba y are Benin an that's just what u are

(DATA):
The name “Benin” is written on your map.

(YOUR CONCLUSION):
Hence, Benin kingdom ruled the land areas covered by the name “Benin” on that map.

(MY EVALUATION):
Benin people are under a strong grip of delusion and inferiority complex. See proof below.

(DATA):
The name “Guinea” is also written on the same maps — covering the land area of all the W/Africa forest including Benin kingdom.

(TO BE CONSISTENT, YOUR REASONING SHOULD BE):
Well, Guinea conquered and ruled Benin kingdom and the other vast expenses of the West African forest. Lol.

Unfortunately, “absurd conclusions” and “inconsistency” are the stock-in-trade of every Benin dumbstards like the one here.

if all this is true why are yoruba claiming and igbo claiming every fact history of the Benin[/s]

THE FACTS:
(1) There was nothing called Nigeria during the periods when the Europeans first visited our region.

(2) Hence Nigeria was NOT called Benin at any point in the history of the world.

(3) No European gets no approval from any W/African King or Chief before trading with anyone.

(4) The appearance of the names “Guinea” or “Benin” on some maps does not communicate ownership.

Rather, it reflects the cartographer’s acquaintance with the region s(he) is sketching.

(5) Certain earlier maps than the ones attached here shows the phrase “The Ooni’s Kingdom” (translated) written over a vast expanse of the present-day Nigeria region (and beyond).

What a load of rRRRrrrUbish!

goalernestman:
[s]there is noting like eden. if i ask you now you wont even know what u just said [eden] means. eben is what is called and it has a meaning in benin and do not have in other tribe, i repeat 90% nations that was under or in the Benin kingdom still use it till date.

Owo first king is a direct descendant of oba esigie of benin i will advise you to go direct to their royal home and ask them this

then a picture here you can see the king of lagos who is also a decendant of oba of benin with a benin staff ada and eben and also you will see olu of warri with same thing and then you will see oni holding a Yoruba staff, so why the owo king and lagos king didn't hold the Yoruba staff instead they choose the Benin eben and ada. ask yourself this.[/s]
(1) First of all, there is nothing called “Eben”.

The original/Yoruba name is “Abẹ̀rẹ̀,” and we still use this name (among others) all over our kingdoms till date. But the name Eben was recently faked by the Binis.

The name “Eben” is a modern-day Benin forgery which was recently fabricated in order to hide the true & original IFE-Yoruba origin of this state ‘sword’.

We know this because, even in as recent as the 1800s, European visitors to Benin who met this state object in Benin also documented its name as “Ebere” — NOT once as “Eben” — See. H. Ling Roth (1903).

(2) The second of the pair is the “Ada”. Although the original/Yoruba name of this one has been correctly preserved by the Binis, there are linguistic clues which tells of the actual Yoruba origins of this state object as well.

The Bini dictionary confesses that the name “Ada” for this state object is a name borrowed into Bini language from the Yoruba language.

(3) Owo kingdom was founded about the same period as Benin kingdom. How then could its 1st king have been a descendant of Esigie (who was the 16th/17th Benin king)?? undecided

Moreover, Owo palace traditions name the founder of the Owo kingdom to be an IFE prince by the name Asunlola Ojugbelu (and his son, Imade).

Benin liars-cum-ignoramuses make me cringe so bad.

(4) The King of Lagos:
First of all, king Ado (the “first” king of Lagos) is only partly descended from Benin.

King Ado is NOT paternally descended from the Benin Oba.

King Ado IS PATERNALLY descended from Isheri-Olofin in Lagos, and maternally descended from the Benin Oba.

Lagos Kings have a Yoruba crown as attached below.

(5) Would you like me to post a picture of your Oba of Benin holding a long pole-like staff (the like of which you named as a Yoruba staff)??

Would you regard him as a Yoruba king, just for holding that??

Consistency must, by default, be far away from any Bini liar like yourself.

(6) The Ada and the Abere (aka Ape, aka Ato) have their origin from ILe-Ife (the center of Yoruba civilization and monarchy).

A proof of this fact lies in the existence of the oldest surviving archaeological evidence of both the Ada and the Abere in Yorubaland till date.

Cheers!
