Elections Postponement: The Implications On The Common Nigerian by Chikiletta: 12:37pm On Feb 16, 2019
The news of the postponement of the elections has come as a huge blow to thousands of Nigerians. People who had responsibly and adequately prepared for this Saturday, February the 16th woke up the morning of the elections to the shocking news.

Anger has swept through the nation as the broom of incompetence is starting to reveal the level and outcome of their incompetency there is no holding back.Stories have started emerging all over social media across the nation of people pouring out their travel tales, preparation stories. Some traveling for several hours to be close to their polling station, others traveling in from abroad.

A trending image of an elderly woman who made four times more kunu for her polling unit has gone round. What about her. What about the people in the North who fled their homes for preparations. What about the corpers who slept in harsh conditions slumped on top of each other to be prepared to serve their country. What about those who shifted weddings, funerals shut down their businesses.

The fact that the announcement was made so last minute has fuelled the anger of the people. But this fact has made people more motivated than before with spurts of those who had voter apathy now being motivated to go out and do what it takes to go to the polling stations no matter the day. It seems that people are ready for Better this time more than ever

Some people had their weddings and activities set for the new day of the election too. I can imagine the cost of this election postponement to ordinary Nigerians.

Some people will try to see this from the religious or sympathetic angle, but this is the height of incompetence and should NEVER be tolerated if we do really want a better Nigeria!

Incompetence runs from head to toes in this Buhari's Administration but we will not relent in sending Buhari back to Daura any time INEC is ready.

The worst part of the whole postponement is that the APC ranting machine Festus Keyamo was blaming PDP. I have a question for Keyamo, Is it PDP that appointed prof. Yakubu? I am so angry that close to 5hours they decided to do this.

So much financial and emotional implications for Nigerians.

I think this election postponement will likely hurt PMB's chances more than the opposition parties as Nigerians are ignorantly blaming Buhari and APC for it, instead of holding an independent INEC responsibile for failing Nigerians.
Nigerians are far more emotional than rational.

Buhari has made a very heavy mistake. He has proved to Nigerians that this government is so incompetent and lackadiasical. That's the final nail to the coffin next saturday he is surely going back to Daura grin.

Nigeria govt thinks election is a family meeting u can postponed anytime u want or wish. Even if its a family meeting that u postpone in such manner, it will still cost some problems let alone a national thing.

One thing is certain.

Dr Atiku Abubakar will win this election
We can never and must never reinforce a failure as a President In Nigeria

Chikiletta:

The postponement of the 2019 election came as a shock to Nigerians who had already made up their minds to vote out incompetence, nepotism, killings and poverty. However, one cannot take power from tyrants without being bruised. This is part of the bruise that Nigerians need to sustain for a better Nigeria. A lot of Nigerians had fixed sensitive activities for 23rd February, like their weddings. Will they now shift it? A lot of Nigerians had borrowed money to stock up food and fuel supplies for this election, and a lot of people have spent billions traveling across the country to go and cast their votes against bad governance, recession, poverty and incompetence.

In fighting dictatorship, there is no way one will have an easy ride. Buhari had already, through his secret agencies, conducted objective assessments of the election, and was already sure of losing until now. Are Nigerians fazed? Never! Why would Nigerians be fazed when too much is at stake? Do you know that in the next killing spree, your family could be next in the list of people to be killed? Do you know that you might be the next in line to lose your job or have your business fold up in the next round of recession coming to Nigerians? Do you know your husband could be the next person to be locked up against court orders? Do you know that your sons could be killed trying to defend this great nation against Boko Haram and banditry?

A lot is at stake and the voters know this. They know that there is no sacrifice too big for a better Nigeria. Destiny can be delayed but cannot be denied. There is a resolve around the country more than ever. And that resolve goes beyond religion or tribe. That resolve is an unwritten agreement that Never Again shall we have a government without value for human lives. Never again shall we have a government with so much affinity to poverty. Never again shall we have a government so corrupt and never again shall we have a government so incompetent that in the last one month, additional 3m Nigerians have become poorer.

I blame Nnamdi Kanu for this postponement, Inec was only trying to obey his sit at home order.
