What Are The Benefits Of Living In Lekki? by Quorax: 8:03am On Feb 17, 2019
Hello,

I searched every section and I feel this is somewhat the best place.

A friend of mine, early this month, went to Lekki for our business prospecting and came back with euphoric excitement. He said he must relocate to Lekki.

Though, he has been nursing the idea since 2017. His reason is that his boss who left him at our current location has become extremely successful and wealthy. He said he would love to pitch his tent too.

In 2016 I spent 1 month there at a friend's house and I didn't really feel the excitement or potential as taunted by lots of people. Maybe I was a bit close minded or because my business model was mainly online then.

But now, I am gradually shifting into offline business (with a mix of online) and already eyeing the Lekki, ibeju Lekki to be precise, in terms of potential for entrepreneur, what are the benefits of living in Lekki?

Please help with insight that can guide my decision.

you can't compare mainland to Island due to the caliber of people living there. island has more educated population with a more civilized way of living. you get to mingle to great minds. mainland on the other hand, my brother lets not just talk about mainland coz alot of them are on Nairaland and their bark is worse their bite. you can also trust them to hijack any thread grin

Ibeju lekki is ibeju lga, not lekki, eti osa lga.

So many misconceptions about Lekki especially the location. There are villages on ibeju lekki axis ( eg Igbo efon, Ajiran, ikota village, ilaje)but everyone claims lekki.

Benefits of living in Lekki 1 : good connect, speedy response by emergency services ( power , fire, road safety , police, ambulance etc) ,relatively good security .

Thanks. I mentioned ibeju lekki as a potential property owner due to the new opportunity along that axis..at least, it isn't too far from Lekki - Ajah

Lekki 1 and 2 is filled up already.

But all those areas are in Eti-osa. Ibeju Lekki starts from after Fara Park Estate.

-You get to mingle and associate with people that matter.
-There's security.
-You feel accomplished.
-Constant electricity.
-Police doesn't mess with you because they don't know who you know.

Note: I don't live in lekki, just what I see on tv and on the internet.

Chances of being connected is high...

Sorry, I live in d mainland, may be I'm wrong

But many crazy people lives in mainland sha; people that throw their bottled water on the street, aboki that have nowhere to live but live in a uncompleted compound pooing on the street, many rough conductor with tattered vehicle too, distirbing noise from ur neighbor f.cknng his wife...

I plan to relocate to bourdillon soon sha, cos hardly will u enter street without seeing churches in the shop.

1- close proximity to VI as most company's head office is on the island.
2- many rich people live in the axis
3- ajah is now filled up but it made many millionaires, ibeju lekki will do same too

Advanced ghetto

I've lived there and talking from experience, if your work is not in VI, Ikoyi or Lekki itself you got no reason being there believe me, it's just the normal Nija overhyping herd mentality stuffs.

For instance, in the whole of the Eti-osa stretch, no general hospital or an open public recreational park with only one major road, the Lekki-Epe express. Tho thousands of billions resides there.

A mixture of both good and bad

1.Good neighborhood.
2.meet good people (networking)
3.easy access to pubs.
4.Good job is at your finger tip.. just ask your neighbor...lol.

Disadvantages...
1.everything is over priced.
2. Costly apartment (but nice)
3. Bad water.
4. Everybody wants to live with you.
5. You're always a target for bad guys.
6. People take you as a proud guy, once you say I live in Lekki.
7. Flood.
8. Intimidation... 2008 Camry is just a Taxi..
9. Girls want to collect 20k as tf for coming around.
....
....
....
Ignore all the disadvantages, life's quite better over here...
It's worth it,sometimes you get fed up,but most times you will smile.

Good landscaping with good aesthetics
Maybe good or better tarred roads
Extreme privacy and limited noise pollution or nuisance
Affluence and big oil companies
Better and high job paying opportunities
Access to the beach
Vibrant lifestyle e.g. clubbing, conservation centers
Abode for some corrupt politicians
Celebrity hideout
And so on...

The breath of fresh air in Lekki is amazing. Enough ventilation everywhere. I'm so happy to be a house owner. Kia Mainland is just too choking.

If you have a business that involves meeting with or socializing with people. Lekki is a place that can help you make that happen. generally, better business potentials because people have a lot of loose money that can help your business thrive. If you are a job seeker, there is no guarantee but business, mostly assured to succeed.

So all those olosho are still men of calibre. Or those agberos living in lekki are more civilized or those yahoo boys are more educated. Rubbish Many houses on the island are built by people in the mainland. The Landlord prefer to stay in the mainland and the Tenants prefers to stay in the island. You see the sense. I'm an insider.
