I read that the Ethiopian famine happened in '84, but I guess the effects were long reaching, because the pictures were still all over the news, well into the 90s when this was said to me. I'm no spring chicken either But I honestly don't remember the hunger in Somalia, even though we could be closer in age by the sound of it.
