Beware! Glo Network Can Kill Your Online Business! by bongolistik(m): 9:49am On Feb 27, 2019
Glo one of the GSM and Internet networks in Nigeria can kill your online businesses.

And I have my valid points, because once it is all about online businesses, you need to be constantly able to access the Internet with average or high speed Internet network connectivity for you to be able to carry out your businesses, and if you own a site, visitors are supposed to be able to access your sites anytime.

Now with glo, for the past 1 year and counting, those that run their blog sites on Google Blogger have since lost all visitors coming from Glo network, since Glo for no any good reason decided to block Blogger IP.

Secondly, it is only glo network that I know that whenever users start encountering Internet network challenges, it can go on for weeks or even months frustrating users either with extremely sluggish and intermittent connectivity or 3G network will cease entirely for those time being. If a network provider encounters 1 day network challenge, that can be understandable, but when these network challenges linger for weeks or months, then it is obvious that the network provider is an online business killer, because it will be hard for online business owners not to access the Internet for weeks or months and with Glo network it is possible to keep you offline for weeks and months.

Example, for the past 5 days now, I have not been able to use Glo network to achieve anything online, because the network just suddenly dropped in frustrating mode since 5 days. Although I have moved on with other networks but it is painful to be watching your data, validity period and subscription money to be wasting away without any compensation from the cause of the network failure, which is Glo.

The worst of it, is if you dare call customer care to lay complaints, the time you spent in talking with them would have been best if used or channeled into other useful things because, at the end you will only end up getting the dumbest of responses especially from their female operators, without anything being solved and the network frustration continues.

If Glo is not ready to run or give Nigerians better and stable Internet connectivities, then it is hightime online business owners should take note of the network and stay far from them. Yes we know that other network providers do have their challenges but that of Glo is legendary.

Sometimes I wonder! Glo has not been able to provide smooth and stable 2G and 3G network but they are quick to embrace the 4G network. I thought by now 2G and 3G networks would have been to perfection in most locations in the country, since the world is even moving past 4G network to 5G. I wonder how they will manage the 4G networks when more and more people continue to key into the network.

How else again do you think a network provider can kill online business owners if not what Glo is already doing.

Location, location, they will tell you that location matters.. Yes we know that location matters but the question to ask ; is Glo the largest GSM and Internet network provider in the country? Answer is capital No. So if Glo is now saying location, what will other network providers say..

Glo zaps in my areas in anambra and Enugu, so shut up and don't generalize

Mtn and etisalat are super crap in my area, while airtel is just there

Once again, shut up and don't generalize
Saying GLO network sucks currently is an understatement and I was using them over the past 3 years as my primary data network until this year.

There network is P1ss poor, half of the time the network disappears, the other half you can hardly use it to browse and just forget about trying to use it to stream a live game, that is IMPOSSIBLE..

Airtel with their widespread 4G network is the go to network for data speed and I stay in the Onitsha area of Anambra..

All glo knows is adding more stars to their catalogue of ambassadors.
I bet Anthony Joshua cost them up to $1m undecided

Let them continue being useless..
Later when they get completely consumed by the competition, they will claim, we don't "buy naija".

Airtel has made up for their years of mediocrity with their quite widespread 4G coverage, but glo still remains the same.

Data services account for the larger part of Consumer spending on Service providers, so if you can't offer decent Internet, you will suffer in the long run.
I don't personally know anyone who uses Glo as his primary network, and Glo thinks it wouldn't impact them in the long run abi?
OK na.

I think most time this thing has to do with location, from my experienced, any time Glo network started slow, I just go to another area, & it will be very fast there

Op has a point, I don't even near them since the last encounter, it depends on your location and honestly they are only based in luxury cities or campuses you just can't find them anywhere, most of their old masts are not even upgraded with 3g broadband yet

Something is wrong with u

Glo needs to improve immensely cos it doesn't make sense that you have to goto certain places to receive good service transmission from a particular network.

In my whole life of using mtn, the only place I have issues with them is my village but Glo, u will have service inside ur house, for u to buy sweet downstairs, service don go, yet you are saying op wants to spoil someone's business?

They need to improve so stop insulting op and goto Glo office and tell them to improve

I'm actually using Glo and it rocks in my house and my workplace, but when I enter computer village, Na to quickly subscribe for mtn cos Glo go make me lose all my online customers

Lol. Any business starter should know that he/she has to skip Glo for data. Ignore the huge data/price ratio you get, its like getting 12Gigs of data to be used on EDGE network. Its pointless.

In the course of my work, I've been presented with pages upon pages of documented complaints regarding Glo network, some conversations are one-sided with late or no feedback from Glo assigned agents, some agents would reply and outrightly claim it is not from their end. Most subscribers just give up and rents/buys another equipment from another data provider, and happily begin to get better service from the new data source.
All this issues date to as far back as 2006. Reading through them would convey the sense of frustration on the part of subscriber. It came to a point that I had to start asking "What network?" so that I would have a sense of what I am up against.
It was and still is that bad.

This is 2019. Consumers want fast and precise transactions. For a starter, nobody has time to hear excuses that can be remedied by porting to another network. Nobody wants to hear that the reason why you cannot render a service is because your network is bad. It would convey a sense of "unseriousness". There are better competitors that they can contact swiftly and get their products/service without delay...even before an image finishes loading using Glo service.

There are a lot of other choices available. They might not have large data/price ratio, but they would save you the countless customers you might lose because you are on Glo data. If you would like to still stick with Glo, just get your backup ready for their eventual fvckup.

My own cents.

Agreed but it goes to show how unreliable it can be. It also shows that they don't really have a wide coverage as they claim to have.

Anyways, it is a common knowledge that Glo is the last network to bank on for reliable data.

I don't see the essence of this thread. Any business person that depends on glo network for data purposes is not even ready for business in the first place.

Even non business persons that value their time should know this already. yeah

Before I can use my glo sim to browse I have to place my phone on my sitting room window (I kid you not)
And I can confidently tell you that airtel, mtn and etisalat 2G network is faster than glo 3G network in my area...
