Xavier5:According to an article I read, it is part of their new policy that audience can no longer make a review about a movie that hasn't debuted. Though I have this feeling that CM would have a weak opening weekend, but if the movie is really good (according to test screening),word of mouth would prevent it from bombing though I don't wish that. |

Xavier5: For those that don't understand what's going on, let me explain... On Rotten Tomatoes there was this meter that calculates anticipation for every movie. There was options such as "not interested " and "interested " . If you are interested in a certain, you click the "interested" button, if you are not interested you click "not interested ". Rotten Tomatoes weighs the choices and calculates anticipation for movies. Captain Marvel interest rate dropped from 99% to an alarming level of 25%. That is to say only 25% of RT users are interested in Captain Marvel. Disney knew that this would harm Captain Marvel chances at the box office because apparently millions of people visit RT to check on a particular movie before watching it. So imagine visiting Captain Marvel RT page only to see that interest rate is at a paltry 25%... Disney had to do something to protect their investment. I don't know what kind of deal or money they paid RT to hide the interest meter. Someone said Disney has the media and critics in their back pocket and now I'm starting to believe it. Many films has had low interest level before release and RT did nothing. Captain Marvel interest meter drops to 25% and RT changes their website to protect the film. What a shame...!!! RT is officially in Disney's pocket. |

iuwe: The timing is very suspicious. They didn't change it when other movies were getting bashed before release. It happens to Captain Marvel and they suddenly decide to change their website and hide user reviews and interest meter. The timing is suspect and this is far from a coincidence. Disney influence is already hovering over RT. Disney is trying to protect their investment. |
