BRIEF SUMMARY:

Northern region, previously known for using under aged voters, recorded no such incidence this time around.
There were pockets of violence in most parts of the country but mostly noticeable in the southern region, with Rivers State being most prominent.
Voter buying was again confined to the south; mainly in the SS and SE geopolitical zones.
Security was quite adequate throughout the country, including NE where unrest was anticipated but not witnessed; the Nigerian Army and its leadership was largely responsible and highly commended for this achievement.

The American observers therefore concluded that the elections were free and fair.
