Chief Bishop BW Degi emergies the winner of the APC Bayelsa East senatorial Primaries elections conducted recently.

Bishop Degi defeated Mr Ayobegha James to clinch the party’s ticket.

Degi is a well known politician within and outside Bayelsa state and also a grassroot politician who has gotten deep knowledge about politics.

He started his political career in 1980’s when he became a member of the local chamber in Nembe Local Government Area in 1990, he became the Vice-chairman in 1993 and he eventually became Chairman of Nembe Local Government area in 1999.

He was bagged with the Award of best performing Chairman among the eight ( 8 ) Local Government Chairmen in the state under the stewardship of late former governor D. S. P. Alamieyeseighay in the year 2002.

Thereafter, his optimum performance catapulted him to the state level and was made a commissioner for the Ministry of Rural Development & Chieftaincy Affairs and also Ministry of Health as a commissioner in 2006 under the Leadership of former president Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the State Governor.

His sterling qualities ,administrative ideologies and the excellent contributions he has made while he was a commissioner in the state gained him a national appointment as an Executive Director of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in 2012 under former president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Chief Bishop B.W.Degi-Eremienyo is believed to be a great leader who always believe in community development, women/youth empowerment, jobs creation and shaping a better future for the younger generation.

Did Ben offered himself for reelection?

I thought he said he wont be going back to the senate.

He was not defeated because he didn't contest or seek re election.

Calm down: Ben Murray-Bruce did not contest. His party had another candidate.

My dear friend that senatorial seat is zoned in bayelsa state with one tenor each, ben bruce served his and wasn't eligible for re-election .

In Bruce's constituency you serve a single term.

However, his replacement in PDP was roundly defeated.

This one can't even spell loss. � ����������
