What many of u piglets don't understand is that, what is call "national interest" is always considered in a case like this. The supreme court could NEVER annul a presidential election in Nigeria (atleast not now) no matter the level of rigging, they first of all consider the implication on the country. National interest first! Moreover, this election is free and fair to a very large extent !

Wrong perception bro, 7 Justices make up the Supreme Court and for judgment to be finally passed at least 4 of these Senior Judges must assent to it which.makes the CJN ineffective here and besides, looking at the crop of SANs and top lawyers Atiku had already hired for this big case and the incriminating evidences at his disposal, Buhari stands no chance. Wait for it, May 29th, We shall have a new President!

The court cannot decide the winners of election anymore. The senate made sure of that.

The worst the court can do is cancel the election in areas that have issues and order a re-run there so smack, you are back to elections.

Then again, anyone who actually thinks Atiku won that election needs to reevaluate his/her thinking process

National interest!! These judges too feel the pulse of the people. Buhari is very popular, no judge can overturn this election.. none!! If it was some unpopular candidate that magically won, its different but Buhari is still extremely favored among his supporters contrary to what his haters think. For the most part, people have moved on, its just very few ppl still going on in this futile journey. There's no judge in the world that'll risk anything that'll lead to instability. Even in the US, why do people think the topic of impeachment is something that's still dismissed even for an unpopular president like Trump? Because they know any move that'll lead to his removal without solid evidence, evidence without a shred of doubt will lead to instability. I'm talking evidence that shows Trump himself involved in the collusion they're accusing him of. All his children could go to jail and they still won't remove him until they can nail him personally. Good luck with Atiku getting that kind of evidence

No one is saying Atiku outrightly won the election. What Atiku is saying is that there were malpractices that robbed him of votes and outrightly inflated APC's votes. Maybe if those inflation hadn't happened, APC would have been unable to get up to 25% in up to 24 states leading to a fresh re-election between the first place and runner-up (ie Buhari and Atiku, respectively).

And for your first point that the court cannot determine the winner of an election. I'm not sure there's any law stipulating that. If there was, two APC Rivers senators would not have been pronounced senators by the court. The court never ordered a re-election; it ruled that they were winners outrightly. So the same thing can happen in this case and heavens would not fall.

There are 19 states in the North. Buhari will get 25% in every of those and 6 SW states. That is already 25 states.

As for the court, except in pre-election issues, no court announced a lawmaker winner

In law, what is considered most of the time is whether a crime was committed, not whether the crime was huge enough to be considered for punishment, though the degree of punishment differs. If the court finds that there were irregularities, they could pronounce that the runner-up would have won if it hadn't been rigged.

The two APC senators from Rivers State were declared elected by the court after more than a year or even two that the election took place. The cases were not pre-election matters. It was not an intra-party issue. PDP senators were told to vacate their offices, and senator Abe Magnus and senator Uchendu were sworn in. And the same can happen in this election, too.

Of the seven justices, I know Atiku automatically has the support of two (the man from Ebonyi and Peter Odili's wife) and this two can convince @least two more colleagues

In the case of Magnus Abe, a rerun was held and Abe won hands down.

Let's not drag this for too long, but take a look at what the tribunal said: "The tribunal hinged its decision on substantial non-compliance with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines."
And this is exactly the case PDP is going to be presenting before the court.

The courts don't have the powers again to declare a winner even in cases of severe fighting, they will simply cancel the votes and order for a rerun. That js the law.

The burden of proof is on Atiku to prove rigging occurred.

When you complain about a foul and penalty that gave victory to your opponent, it is not the opponent under scrutiny....it will be the referee.

Buhari has nothing to fear. APC is not the referee.
