President Muhammadu Buhari is in a meeting with the security chiefs in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The security chiefs were led to the meeting by the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali.

Those in attendance include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai.

Others are the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, and the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, is also at the meeting.

I believe during presidential elections the president should handover to the Senate in a country and after elections whoever comes victorious then sworn in, it makes no sense a president conducting a presidential election with all the power at his disposal....my thought though

Gunmen yesterday killed 40 persons in two communities in Shinkafi and Anka Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Zamfara State.

The killing is coming barely two days after the police in the state disclosed that 29 people were killed on Saturday by suspected bandits in Shinkafi LGA.
