i had this idea for trading high impact news like bank rate etc. the idea was to open two account of the same amount and max the leverage. then you take a buy on one account and sell on another account few mins before the news is release with a huge lot size. so by the end of the news event one account is gone and the other one has triple or fourple grin. what do you guys think? has anybody tried something like this before?

None of the people I know who tried this were successful. Give it a shot, you might learn something.

That long red candle looks like it'll be a trap for sellers. USD still had a couple other favourable news that should make it stronger than CAD. Personally, I would be looking to buy.

Still a good effort, some weeks you may not get any trade. Do not force it when there is one.

The most important thing is your profit even if it is 5 pips

You need to pay very good attention to signals as they don’t work well on all time frames. Usually the best results are expressed on 4H chart. Anyway, you can use demo account to learn and test trading signals

You're looking for a shortcut / market weakness or sort, what you are trying to do is very difficult. News can wack the market up and down, triggering your buy and sell order at the same time. I don't think it's a winning method, you can try it out though.

I think people forget about this, entering too many pairs at the same time. A lot of the pairs are correlated.

Nothing bad about that. You can enter 1 or 2 trades and take the same risk as entering 6 trades at the same time.

For new traders.

Conservative trading lot size with account size.

$100 - $200 should be trading 0.01 lot size, and not entering more than 2-3 trades at a time.

$300 - $400 should be trading 0.02 lot size, and not entering more than 2-3 trades at a time.

This will help you learn discipline (patience to pick the right trade), avoid over trading and help you grow your account the right way.

USDCAD and EURJPY ideas are also welcome. Their price action are not as convincing as USDCAD.

Nothing bad about that. You can enter 1 or 2 trades and take the same risk as entering 6 trades at the same time.
guy correlation does not work atimes. for example eurusd was moving up steadily while gbpusd was crashing down. and many more examples.

I only traded USDCAD and USDJPY. Although I saw that a lot of the pairs on the watchlist I posted did make good trades later. I also saw how USDCHF turned where I may have entered if I was watching...

Your method is really solid but I now have the probably good problem of many paths to take and don't feel like abandoning any. In fact my mind keeps wanting to try for more. I know different methods can have dry seasons and I dislike dry seasons...

How do you manage to track your watchlist. I won't even burn effort preparing them manually; never mind trading them simultaneously. I get very engrossed in individual or few trades; but I am trying to think of a way to take everything and earn more.

Eventually the week was a slight loser because some other things I tried (seasonality) flopped (or just went through a bad phase) and I got out too early from uj (which actually earned much more than the USDCAD I posted)...

GladMan it's a great thing to try. But it's not too great to call it a failure as soon as you are doing. Try adding money management and maybe some news analyzing skills to your promising idea to see how it goes...
