It’s very sad that my first post here is going to be how somebody enter my house , broke my pop to gain entrance to my roof and cart away all my Coleman wire 4mm 2.5mm and 1.5mm over 20coils in total ..
Sorry to hear this
but did you just put the wires in the building without doing the whole house wiring?

Good day experts in the house. Is it necessary or compulsory to plaster a wall before installing tiles?
Yes I think it necessary the reason is this..... When you are plastering the wall there are some drop out cement on the floor most of it will stick on the tiles to the extent that it can't be totally removed and so you know that can make the tiles look so unkept

So it better to do the plastering first if possible do the painting too b4 tiling

For a two storey building, what size of block is recommended to form the blocks of rooms, living room etc.

5 - inches or 6 - inches?

Any advantage/disadvantage of using either or??

9"

At least for the foundation, first floor, and second floor block walls. 6 or 5" blocks are not so much recommended for story buildings because it defines the size of your columns and beams. For a two decking house, please use 9" blocks.

An exception to this rule is if you have a competent professional from the planning stages of the building, who would have calculated the loads of the house and distributed the weight in such a way that the structure is planned to be built with 6" or 5" blocks.

Thanks my Oga.

In this case, I believe they were trying to use 5 inch blocks to form the walls of the toilet and bathroom and that of the parking store in the kitchen but other than that 9 inches was used in all the areas.

Do you think introducing 5 inch blocks even for the small areas is plausible or should we stick to 9 inches throughout the project?

Thanks again

Another question, what if 5 inches was used to demarcate the walls of the bathrooms and the thin wall of the kitchen storage but 9 inches was used in all other places. Would that be plausible?

Yes, it's acceptable.

You know there are many types of wall but want to talk about this two.

1. Load-bearing wall.
2. Partition wall.
Load-bearing wall is a structural element which transfers load from other part of the building to the foundation.

While partitioning wall demarcate or seperate space. you can always use 5 or 6" for this purpose

However, I advise you use 9" block for all external walls , and some internal wall aswell as stairwell because of the column sizes and mechanical pipings( plumbing).

Note: 1. It's not advisable to resize column designed by a professional architect as that may cause structural defect or a total collapse.
2. Its better to implement structures as the architect and the structural engineer has designed it. It's of essence to carry the designers alone if there's need for changes.

Thanks a lot.

Also, someone told me that the floor of soakaway is not floored with concrete to allow liquid to sink into the earth while another told me that the ground is floored with concrete. How true is this? Thanks

How much financial benefits would you derive from using 5" or 6" to demarcate the areas you mention as opposed to the rest of mind that using the conventional 9" as already advised to you by professionals here.

Are you seeking professional validation to engage in poor construction practice?? I doubt if you can get that here. You have been well guided, use 9" throughout your build. Had I known is a brother to Mr Late.

I had granite and sand, so its hard to put a quantity on that. But with what I provided above, it's very clear that you're being over charged. The carpenter brought his own wood and charged me 25k including labour plus decking.
