Chekitaut:
Head pan damage fast, is too fragile & expensive plastic paint bucket is cheaper & last long.

There's a particular head pan the name "HUMMER" is embossed at its base. They can get it. The only maintenance it needs is washing/cleaning it after using it, and it will last you all through your project.

JUST AN OPINION

first floor - cross ventilation can be provided for the 2 rooms at the rear end , so why not make provision for it .

first floor - the walk in closet would be very dark if not totally unusable when there is no light, so why not remove the door that leads to it from the toilet and make it a whole wall then make the walk in closet a U - shape facing the windows

Thank you so much for going through the floor plans and also giving a nice opinion. I love the fact that you did not criticize but you also gave solutions. God bless you so much for that

Nice one.
But don't you think it will be more suitable to interchange the position of the toilet/bath with the closet. Just maintain the opening into the closet without putting a door to throw light into it and you can flush the door to the toilet on the left part of the wall thereby creating more space for your wardrobe on the outside.

hmmmm that'll be good , this way the toilet pipe works will be easier as it overlays a toilet on the ground floor.

It can be done. It does not necessarily affects the structural plans.

yes but I think d architect should still correct and resend to the structural engineer for confirmation cause I don't really like to see beam hanging freely within a space the structural engineer will have design like that also and may affect his General arrangement of beam and column position.. op pls follow d advice given to you on the architecture plan here

Hello everyone in the house, I and my husband is just starting our dream home in Ibadan, Nigeria and we will be documenting the whole process here for everyone to learn from and also to contribute and advice us on the right and the best thing to do. We don't believe in cheap things but at the same time in expensive things, we are more concern about using the best materials and method to avoid any complication later on in the future.

This is a journey we would love the good people of nairaland to start with us and follow us with as we will be so open to constructive criticisms, lovely advice making new friends in the construction world and also helping with original materials. We bought the land 4 weeks ago and we just gave out the survey plan and the architectural and structural drawing out so we are expecting the drawings and plan.

Please feel free to ask any question at any stage and we promised to be honest as it will be helpful to us.

Thanks so much,
Jumoke&Femi

The Architectural, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings are all ready. We submitted to the local government in Ibadan for approval. So we are waiting for the approval now. The Electrical and Mechanical drawing was done by someone on Nairaland and we really enjoyed his services so much.

Too bad you got the approval just when the price of cement had gone haywire.
I've had to put the brakes on an ongoing project after I was asked to shell out ₦4,000 for a bag of cement.

Anyhow, those who would still build will do so, even if the price gets jacked up to ₦10,000 grin
