Kenyanstar:
Kenya Railways will work with a French consortium to build a commuter railway line that will run from Nairobi Central Railway Station to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The Nairobi Airport Line, one of many projects we are implementing to decongest Nairobi, will greatly reduce travel time between Nairobi CBD and JKIA, and thus augment Nairobi’s role as East Africa’s commercial hub.
Kenya should try this model, Lagos is already operating the this BRT system, while the light rail is at an advance stage

So fellow Nigerians. I have a theory. I think I know why Kenyans on this thread just refuse to give up. Attention. Yep you heard that right, they are looking for attention. I saw a Kenyan yesterday on YouTube and he/she? was complaining about how Nigeria and South Africa always overshadow Kenya in Africa. So maybe that's why they are always here on Nigerian matter, taking panadol for our headache. They want attention and it's working. Because I've always assumed Kenya is a state in Tanzania until I discover this thread now I know Kenya is a country, they have counties and not states e.t.c. And they are playing a double game too. Dissing Nigeria and sucking South Africa's d*ick. So I think we should just stop paying attention to them. grin. So my Nigerian peeps whadaya think?
Do you take those ones seriously? It is totally laughable when a Kenyan wants to troll. Kenya of all countries.. walahi I just dey laugh. As for that supermoron leave him to delude himself as they all do, it's in their blood. They are irredeemable.
I'm just here for the girls Ed and xhosanostra. Learn a bit about their culture. Why would I waste time arguing with a Kenyan?

Jumia to be first African start-up on NY Stock Exchange angry

n e-commerce company based in Nigeria is to become the first African start-up to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Jumia could go public in the next month.

The company, which was given a $1bn valuation in 2016, offers a range of online goods and has branched into food delivery, hotel and flight booking and mobile tariffs.

It had four million active consumers at the end of 2018.

The online retailer was founded in Lagos by two Nigerian entrepreneurs in 2012 and now offers services to most of the African population, in countries such as South Africa, Tanzania, Egypt and Ivory Coast.

Its largest shareholder is MTN, Africa's biggest telecoms company.

No share price or valuation has been given but there is speculation Jumia could be valued at $1.5bn, despite the fact that it reported a loss of 170m euros ($192m) in 2018.

In documents filed in New York, Jumia warned it could not guarantee achieving or sustaining profitability in the future, citing challenges such as a robbery at its Kenyan warehouse, which saw merchandise worth $560,000 stolen.

Senegalese businesswoman Marieme Jamme welcomed the fact that an African start-up had listed but said there were a lot of challenges ahead.

"There is a lot of work to do," she said.

"They need the technical infrastructure - because currently it is difficult to get a parcel from Senegal to Rwanda.

"There are also issues around distribution and the supply chain.

"Unless someone invested billions of dollars in it, then I don't know how they would beat Amazon or Alibaba."

"Alibaba has more chance of succeeding in Africa because they are more used to building things from scratch," said Ms Jamme.

Chief executive of African firm BRCK, Erik Hersman said the news was "an important event in the evolution of the African tech scene."

"Jumia is showing that an IPO [initial public offering] on a major stock exchange is possible," he added.

The Second largest American African Mission after the one in Egypt is....
Kenya is the third largest recipient of American aid in Africa after Egypt and Ethiopia, a position it has held for more than a decade.
The Chinese as well as the Japanese have chosen Kenya as their African base(over Nigeria and South Africa).
Nigeria is known , but we know what it is known for even in countries like Indonesia and Malaysia. Kenya is seen in a more positive light.Plus, we win three quarters of all global marathons.Nigeria... even in football, have you won the World Cup??
We host one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and one of the best beaches in the world.

Those pictures were taken as at the time it was under construction. Work is still in progress.

Anyway, we have different types of school design. I don't want to waste time posting them all.

Even in international media. Hardly a day goes by without Kenya being covered. You'd think we are in Europe or America. Nigerians have to wait until girls go missing or a building collapses to be covered.

Tylann: You need a break away from this thread. I feel like It's beginning to affect you psychologically. I've been going through your comments and they keep getting darker and harder compared to your earlier comments. I can practically taste your hate for Nigeria. Most people (except the Ghanaians of course grin) do not take this thread seriously, it's just a banter thread but for you I feel it's personal. You are always online. You always have something to say when someone comment especially on Nigeria. So take a chill for a while.

I see tylann is giving you sleepless nights cool

Why don't we try the Abuja metro line grin a nearly 1B (850M) dollar investment that has 1 coach carrying 390 passengers in two trips a day. That can only be beaten by the 8B dollar steal mill that has rusted to the ground.

Nigeria is poor because it's stupid and corrupt. HOW DO YOU SPEND 850M dollars to ferry about 400 passengers grin grin grin grin grin

You think that is expensive? I mean most kenya public schools charges fees around 60-100Kshs(roughly 1K dollars a year); gov does subsidizes them to large extend. Private International schools charge on average anything from 8-20K dollars.

There very little one can learn from Nigeria - if I was asked to say what I have learned that Kenya ought to copy - it probably nothing positive. Ghana is impressive. And of course South Africa is on another level.
