FIFA President Gianni Infantino has on Friday confirmed plans to launch na expanded 24-team Club World Cup. MySportDab reports the new tournament will be staged in June-July 2021 instead of the Confederations Cup. "I am very happy," Infantino said after confirming plans for the tournament. However, The European Club Association has said none of its teams will take part in a 24-team Club World Cup in 2021. The ECA expressed its concerns this week in a letter to FIFA President Gianni Infantino ahead of a decision whether to replace the current seven-team annual Club World Cup, which is played in December. The ECA Executive Board wrote: "It is against any potential approval of a revised CWC at this point in time and confirm that no ECA Clubs would take part to such competition.” The ECA represents 232 clubs in Europe. Rubbish idea. Expanding world cup to 48,now this,all just to compete with the champions league. FIFA should just chill because if an European wide league involving Europe's 24 best teams competiting on a yearly basis,emerges to displace the champions league,this their stupid world club cup would become just like the African champions league,fit only for below average players and watched only by idle people or CAF executives. |

If they like 72 club teams, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Na highest. My observation is THE CREATORS AND PLANNERS OF THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE made sure it was a battle between league leaders of different countries with a long term planning trend that even if another cup or title competition was created like club world cup or Europa league, everyone will still give respect to the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE that's why it was called BATTLE/CLASH OF THE TITANS 4 Likes |

Since it's world club cup, how many clubs will come from each continent ? I know European teams will be more than the rest. Again , this might be too much for clubs in England cos they play all round the year with no break. Lastly, this might affect preseason of some of European teams involved.
