All the reason people hate Igbos are not because of Igbo people action but in their bid to defend the person everyone hates and oppresses.

Igbos were blamed solely for carrying out an Igbo coup, but nobody can come out to testify that he or she saw when Ohanaeze Ndigbo had meeting and decided to carry out a military coup to kill non Igbos in power yet the rest of Igbo tribe paid the huge price.

Again, Igbos in Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Imo, Ebony didn't say ah, Major Nzeogwu is not a full Igbo, he is Delta Igbo and for that, they should kill him, instead Igbos took the whole blame and defended Nzeogwu and stood by him till death. But when it comes to crude oil talk, they will say no, they are not real Igbo, they are Delta Igbo. When Igbos are being persecuted, they will deny being Igbo and claim Delta or Rivers Igbo just to exonerate themselves but when they are in trouble or being persecuted, Igbos will all stand by them in good and in bad.

The same thing Igbos did for Goodluck Jonathan and even after they ganged up against Goodluck and removed him and kept pushing to persecute him and possibly jail him, Igbos continued to defend Goodluck and stand by him even though he is no longer holding power and even though Goodluck did nothing visible for Igbos in terms of infrastructural development.

Igbos are doing same for Atiku, taking the bullet for Atiku.

Even when Buhari was contesting and failing and people were all against Buhari, it was an Igbo lawyer, Mike Ahamba (SAN) that was defending Buhari and speaking for him and telling people to give Buhari a chance, but today the fair weather friends are now claiming relationship with Buhari. Once he leaves office now, they will all disappear into thin air as usual and Buhari will become a monster to them.
