Troops Repel BHT Attack on Michika in Adamawa State. BHTs met their Waterloo and suffered heavy casualties yesterday evening 18 March 2019 when they attempted to infiltrate Michika in Adamawa State. At about 7.20 pm, gallant troops of 115 Task Force Battalion deployed at Lassa in Borno State received a distress call from vigilantes at Maikadiri village on movement of suspected BHTs along Road Maikadiri – Shuwari enroute Michika. The troops immediately organized blocking positions and swooped on the terrorists which led to exchange of fire. The terrorists attempted to escape but were intercepted and suppressed with heavy volume of fire. Consequently, the gallant troops with reinforcement from 143 Battalion Gulak engaged the terrorists on Two Front Coordinated Attacks. The BHTs were completely routed by the troops, neutralizing many of them while others fled in disarray due to superior firepower. As a result, they hastily evacuated most of their corpses under the cover of darkness. The entire area has been dominated by own troops and the situation is completely under control. Items captured from the terrorists include One Ford vehicle, two Toyota Starlet vehicles loaded with foodstuffs, one motorcycle and one tyre inflating machine. Further exploitation is to be conducted this morning. Calm has since returned to the city and inhabitants of the town are hereby enjoined to report the presence of strange faces in their localities and go about their normal businesses. About 8 su-25s and 3 mig-29s. They were flown by Belarusian mercs I believe. Lack of activity could be due to pilot finance issues or the sand storm damage from last year. |

*HIGH LEVEL UNITED NATIONS AND EUROPEAN UNION DELEGATION VISIT MNJTF HEADQUARTERS* A high level United Nations and European Union delegation comprising the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General to Central Africa, Francois Fall, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General to West Africa and Sahel, Mohammed Ibn Chambas and the Special Representative of the European Union to the Sahel, Angel Losada have visited the Headquarters of the Multinational Joint Task Force in N'Djamena, Chad. Speaking during the visit Special Representative Francois Fall thanked the Force Commander, Major General Chikezie Ude for the successes recorded in the ongoing Operation YANCIN TAFKI, noting that the progress made so far is encouraging. He observed that the Boko Haram problem requires more than a military solution, stressing that there is a need to also examine and address the socioeconomic underpinnings of the crisis. Also speaking, Mr Angel Losada conveyed the support and solidarity of the European Union to the MNJTF, noting that the Union will remain in partnership with the MNJTF, particularly, in the areas of political strategy and intelligence sharing. In his contribution, Mr Mohammed Ibn Chambas noted the serious disruption of economic activities among countries of the Lake Chad Area by Boko Haram Insurgency. He observed that a lot of efforts will be required to deal with the attendant challenges. In his response, the Force Commander commended members of the delegation for the visit. He remarked that the fight against Boko Haram would not have been possible without the support of the international community. He assured the delegation that the MNJTF in conjunction with national forces will maintain its current posture in the Lake Chad Basin. Other members of the delegation were the UN Resident Coordinator in Chad, Mr Stephen Tull and the Executive Manager of the Committee against Terrorism, Michelle Coninsk. In a related development, a delegation from the UN Security Council has also visited the MNJTF Tactical Headquarters in Diffa, Niger Republic. Briefing the team, the Deputy Force Commander, Brigadier General Seydou Badjie updated them on the current situation and the challenges facing the MNJTF. In response, the leader of the delegation, Mr Abdel Mahjid said their mission is to assess the MNJTF Area of Operation with a view to making recommendations on how the UN can support African led missions. Please, disseminate this information to the general public. Colonel Timothy Antigha Chief of Military Public Information MNJTF N'Djamena

Henry240:Would have ignored you but doing so will give you a false believe that you have sense. No one is a rapporteur of knowledge, I never claim that i'm wiser or more knowledgeable than anybody here. I am learning alot, and I believe many people following this thread do, if I make a honest mistake it's not out of place for someone to make corrections. All this while I had thought Sirkosky was a Russian coy b4 someone raised an objection to it which I have accepted after one or two checks, if you claim I go to wiki to pick the info atleast your common sense would have told you otherwise because in Wikipedia they clearly made it known that it is an American Company. Well that's by the way I know you've being craving for attention. Enjoy your 1 minute attention while it last, for this is the last time I'll be dignifying you with a response. Gracias |
