erico2k2:On average it cost about $4 per pound to ship goods . Laptops weigh about 5 pounds, so that’s about $20 plus to ship one. Convert that to naira, that is N7k. Multiple by 200 pieces that, would be #1.4M on savings alone. Secondly, the safest way to ship expensive cars is in a container. The only downside is that it is more expensive. When you have only one car in the container out of the four cars, I don’t see how the shipping agent would let you dictate what happens in term of loading other goods. The best he can do is to assure you that your car is safe. |

sonnie10:From your talk I take it you do not and have not shipped anything from abroad B4 in a bag, one bag cost 50 pounds to ship from the Uk a barrel cost 90 to 100 pounds, in the US its $70, no sane person ships goods for sale by weighing them per kilo, you will spend all ur money on freight, If U are shipping a car that is made of Aluminum or fibre, u as a shipper will be very stupid to add goods around it that could Dent or scratch the said car or else U r in deep poo. This is why you do not see sharp cars in goods consolidated cars. |

sonnie10:Even for sale they come Empty, how many people i n the US have time to load their cars? besides where are you and how are you going to store the car when most states sell cars without licence number etc. Most cars are bought at Auctions so its straight from there to shipping yard via motor transporter or traders' plate. |
Re: Ship Carrying Over 2000 Cars Bound For Brazil Sinks by sonnie10: 10:09pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
erico2k2:Are saying you would rather pay $90 for a barrel that would still loaded in the container instead of loading your 200 cell phones in the truck of your car for free? I don’t get it! How do you think those barrels are shipped? |
Re: Ship Carrying Over 2000 Cars Bound For Brazil Sinks by sonnie10: 10:14pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
erico2k2:Your shipping agent would arrange towing from auction and storing in their warehouse until shipped for less than $100 |

Re: Ship Carrying Over 2000 Cars Bound For Brazil Sinks by erico2k2(m): 10:34pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
sonnie10:Barrels are shipped in containers, people who deal with cars for sale do not have time to buy goods in their cars from the USA, you will only find this in the Uk, Europe and Asia,The vast majority of cars are bought at IAA then transported. |

sonnie10:ok so i buy a car say in Washington, how much is it going to cost me to transport it to Texas? |
Re: Ship Carrying Over 2000 Cars Bound For Brazil Sinks by sonnie10: 11:12pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
You erico2k2:You don’t do that. If you buy from Washington you have to ship from the nearest port. However, there are few exceptions. Like the NE area Boston, Rhode Island, Connecticut New Jersey, New York and New hamshire, you can ship from any of port with little or no difference |

erico2k2:Even when you buy the car from any of the auctions you don’t have to use their affiliate towing agent because it’s always expensive. For something they would quote say $280 a local guy with a truck can pick it up for $70 1 Like |

Re: Ship Carrying Over 2000 Cars Bound For Brazil Sinks by erico2k2(m): 11:31pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
sonnie10:pick up from where to where? Im not talking new jersey, Im talking Washington or Frisco |
Re: Ship Carrying Over 2000 Cars Bound For Brazil Sinks by sonnie10: 11:52pm On Mar 19, 2019 |
erico2k2:You don’t buy a car in Washington and ship Texas. You must consider Baltimore port. This is were the shipping agent comes in. They have network of tow truck guys all over the states. All he has to do is to call someone in Washington to pick your car and drop it off at Baltimore if you prefer Roro. |
Re: Ship Carrying Over 2000 Cars Bound For Brazil Sinks by erico2k2(m): 12:00am On Mar 20, 2019 |
sonnie10:The reason Im giving you these narratives is if one buys a car from a location where there are no seaport, you will need to transport it in additional cost, now if it is intercity Im sure it wont be #100.Like you just said if ur car is dropped off that it.Dont 4get you was talking about loading it with goods. |
Re: Ship Carrying Over 2000 Cars Bound For Brazil Sinks by sonnie10: 12:31am On Mar 20, 2019 |
If erico2k2:if you want to load with goods, use an agent who has a warehouse in Baltimore |

Just look at how easy it is to spread fake news. Even in the article from the link shared in the post., it doesn't say ship is destined for Nigeria or Brazil has 2000 cars on board. Doesn't say so on other reputable news outlets as well. Someone carefully added that bit of info that would cause panic. Someone added Brazil, another Nigeria. Humans are really getting damaged psychologically by the new powers technology gives them. What on earth would be anyone's goal for adding fake part to the article to cause panic? Some Black Mirror type sh** 1 Like
