I will also appreciate contributions from guys who have owned or used this SUV. Note that this is the first time I am going to use SUV but I have used sedan cars. So am a novice in this. Thanks

It is the same as a Ford Escape so it is a decent vehicle if properly maintained
Re: Advise On Mazda Tribute SUV by Sonel: 8:50am On Mar 15, 2019

Re: Advise On Mazda Tribute SUV by ShenTeh(m): 9:00am On Mar 15, 2019
Like @ Sultan said, it is more or less a Ford Escape with a Mazda badge.

Never owned one buit have driven them. I know a couple of them always frequenting my mechanic's shop. All their owners are looking for buyers.

* It is fuel-thirsty. I think 17miles to a gallon or worse
* Overheating issues and eventual gaske/top engine issue
* Local technical expertise on the vehicle is not commonplace

Again, you may wait for the experts to come and make their own input, but I strongly advise you against it based on my experience. You will remember I told you.

17Mpg city driving is fuel thirsty? for a old big SUV?

incidentally its officially quoted as 19MPG city driving and 22 highway

if you are getting 17mpg City after 15 years..................
Re: Advise On Mazda Tribute SUV by sultaan(m): 12:40pm On Mar 15, 2019
May I suggest you read up on the specs yourself and read real reviews by owners not hearsay.

Our mechanics tend to destroy it is not a bad vehicle they sell a lot of Escapes for a reason and it is decent

It's a good SUV, parts are shared with Mercury Maverick, ford Escape. It's durable and reliable and cheap. Go for it!

You have my approval.

You owned a defective or a poorly maintained unit. Possibly a scrap yard decommissioned car which was bought, imported and sold off to you.

I know quote a number of folks using them.
Coincidentally, the people I know having them have owned them for very long time as daily drivers car.
A shop owner at the junction to my house had had hers for over 6years she uses it to haul goods from where her suppliers warehouse are and gets them to stock her shop, an a staff of FCDA has been driving his for over 4years.

Very understandable that you misread me. Go back. Read it again. Slowly.

I gave my advise. Give yours.

You know how Naija be now, it won't be good to just fall into crisis as this is the first SUV I am going to use. As any decision I make now matters in my final choice. Don't worry, I go pay consultation.

Ahahahahahaha you wey I know say you go bail out.

Ogbeni, buy that motor it's a good compact SUV. It's not bad. In fact I prefer it to crv and rav4 and would recommend it to anyone at anytime anywhere . Just buy a good unit that's not flooded and you'd be glad you did.
