The hashtag #Buddha is trending on twitter after a smiling Buddha picture, with claims of bringing wealth went viral on the social media platform.

At the moment Buddha is the 3rd most trending topic on Nigerian twitter with over 20,000 tweets and this is majorly down to the conversations around this smiling Buddha.

Few Nigerians on the platform have claimed they saw changes in their purse after they shared the smiling Buddha photos.

However, a larger part of Twitter users in the country, remains cynical about the claims, with many people arguing that the Japanese culture can never have a foothold in Nigerian and how come the entire Japanese population are not billionaires if the story behind the photo is true.
