I have issues with my car AC( Nissan primeria 2003) after taking it to the AC tech, the guy checked said the compressor and dryer is bad, which he changed and did some services.

After that the AC worked well very, but the issue is that after a while it cuts off he checked the gas pressure said it is ok that i should check with a rewire that its electrical problem. the rewire checked and said we should connect the fan and ac direct instead of routing it through the thermostat which we did still my AC cuts of after a while and and too much touch touch will spoil the car.

something tells me that the compressor my AC tech got for me is the problem because the compressor in the car before the change is auto while the one he got is manual according to him it works better than auto compressor.

Please i need your help kindly advise me on what to do.

Your Car is consuming Fuel.... 70miles X 1.6=112Km divided by 35litres=3.2 km to a litre

Autopartz:
Please go for the fairly used a.c compressor. However, there are different grades in the market. There are the Singapore, Malaysian, American and Japan toks with Japan toks being the most expensive. Their fair prices range from 18k to 25k.

The Japan toks in our opinion could be more durable than most of the new (aftermarket) a.c compressors you find in the market.

The new (aftermarket) a.c compressors are within the range of 60k(+/- 5k).

New (oem) a.c compressors exists, but are very expensive (above 120k).

The choice is yours. Your reliable a.c technician can source it for you.

That's what the car mileage reports vis a vis my fuel


BUT REALITY IS:

I usually do 21 miles daily averagely (home to work is 10.75 miles) and use between 3,500 - 4,000 Naira fuel for Monday to Friday 3rd MB traffic and AC inclusive.


That's like 105 miles to 35 litres.


Note that I don't usually get to tank reserve by Friday evening and the car reserve is like 8 litres or more sef. So you can as well say it's 105 miles to 30 litres.



But the car dash reports what I posted earlier.

Which is why I asked....

My fuel tank is 70 Litres.

I bought a full tank.

When the fuel gauge was at half, the odometer read about 70miles.

So I asked the question because it scared me.

The maths looked very bad.


But in reality, when I considered my driving distances it didnt add up hence the second post.


Engine is a 2.5 litre 5 plug. Volvo vehicle.



Let me give another example.

I bought a full tank on Friday
Drove home. Saturday morning, drove to Ladipo from Yaba.
Returned back to Yaba

Lots of traffic, full AC use.

Sunday went from Yaba to Ogba, to Magodo, back to Yaba through Bariga.

Monday through Thursday Yaba to Lagos via 3rd MB to and fro. My Yaba to Lagos commute is 10.75 miles both ways.

I'm now at quarter tank or slightly less.
