I just moved in to anther hostel and no one told me how bad the network over here is. I can only make calls, browsing is hell. Ordinary whatsapp won't load. I've tried all networks and they're all that bad. Network is one of the things I should have considered before moving in here, the network in my former hostel was superb. I do most of my stuffs on the internet, the internet is my workshop. Someone has advised me to get a Mifi and I don't know how that will help my situation. Does a Mifi create it own signal? Is it not the same available bad network that it will connect to ?
Someone should plz explain how a Mifi will help and maybe then I'll consider it...

At least with the mifi if you have a particular spot in the house that has good signal, you can place it there whenever you want to browse.

That's the only way I can think of that a mifi will help, it doesn't boost signal.

I thought as much. I have a secondary Android phone. How about I tether it and hang it somewhere above the ceiling?

That's a cheaper option, and it will serve the same purpose.
