It’s no news that the oral health status of a lot of Nigerians is poor, this is largely due to ignorance, negligence or ‘poverty’. Poor oral health extends far beyond the mouth, taking a serious toll on an individual’s overall health and well-being.

March 20th marked the 2019 World Oral Health Day with the FDI theme “Say Ahh: Act on Mouth Health”.

The Nigeria Association of Dental Students, NADS -- in collaboration with Oral B toothpaste – celebrated by holding national outreaches in six cities: Benin, Port Harcourt, Lagos, Ibadan, Calabar and Maiduguri.

The outreaches involved sensitizing the public about the need to maintain good oral hygiene and general wellbeing. There were health walks, free medical & dental check-up as well as counselling across the six cities.

NADS is the umbrella body of Dental students in Nigeria with members across various Nigerian Dental schools.

Kudos! We need to promote oral health awareness in Nigeria as it's still very low.

Buh would have been nice if they gave money too.. that one better pass white teeth.
