Parada:In Russia no refinery is government owned, As per Saudi Arabia, the whole oil industry is operated by Americans. You just Saudi citizens as figure heads. Also note that we are blacks, you simply cannot compare us to oyinbos (as offensive as it may seem). The black man in his own environment has difficulty running things. They might thrive in other environs. Dangote etc have foreigners running things. Check out South Africa when the whites were in charge and now. Infact you do not have to look far check out the cars driven by your halfcast or white friends locally in nigeria, no matter how old the car is, you will see that it is well maintained, probably has the original factory paint because it has not been bashed around. Government, how much more a black African man government can never run a business how much more a complicated refinery. It will just be a continuous money pit. Note: I mean no offense to anyone, its just my personal observation. |

bendike:Why so much self hate? Your skin has no bearing on whether you succeed or not. In 1978,China was so backward that it was a laughing stock. When a Brazilian delegation visited the country in 1981, they did not find anything noteworthy to import. It was that bad. Was it that the Chinese were inherently backward or stupid? No. It was because chairman Mao had ruined the country. I'm sure like you, many Chinese felt that they were worthless and a bunch of failures. As at 1986, Chinese GDP was only half that of California. Due to rapid economic growth over the past 40 years, it's economy is 4 times the size of the Californian economy and it's now the 2nd largest economy in the world. The problem African economies have has been their politics which are usually dominated by a strongman who refuses to step down and hangs on power There are rich black countries like Barbados, Bahamas, Botswana and so on. It's not all negativity |

bendike:I very much doubt your statement here that ATAMCO is managed by Americans. The Saudi oil industry was nationalised to put Saudis in charge. How then will Americans now be the ones supervising and managing it? |

grandstar:Mao didn't ruin China.. He set the ground work for their achievements today.. You probably can't say this among Chinese without them calling you to order. Though many hated him... But he set a good foundation.. |

grandstar:You are also right. But in places like Malaysia you also had strong men that stayed and followed a cause that lead to steady economic policies and growth. China is also the same with the communist party. India with ghandi. The Botswana you made reference to just had a half British president that recently left power. Yes you said its our politics we have not gotten right. Hmm. Then maybe that is the problem but inherently we have seen that all over black Africa. Why haven't we gotten it right over the years. Sad to say but as fela sang we had light when being colonized. When we took over and built kianji dam. No light. I have heard people say we would have been better off still colonized. If that is true, I do not know. But certainly there is a problem somewhere. It's not about negatively bro just observation. |

OAUTemitayo:They introduced capitalist policies which are the opposite of communist policies and that's what changed China. The capitalist policies was the foundation of Chinas runaway success. Lee Kuan Yew, the late Singaporean president called Mao's policies "an excess of hubris and theogy |
