BuhariAdvocate: Court of Appeal is the apex for election tribunals. Mod: this applies only to Election Tribunals for National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly... Apparently - Governorship and Presidential elections still go all the way to the SC. Thanks. |

Frankiss44: "The People"? Statements like this are an embarrassment to intelligence! "How many" or "what verified percentage" of the people, is what is important. Ofcourse, members or supporters of the PDP will certainly jubilate but do they constitute a majority of "The People"? This tribunal decision was based on a TECHNICALITY - "The REC does not have the Powers to cancel elections in those places and therefore, all actions that follow, are a nullity". My worry is that 'the law being an ass', the Judiciary is being used to thwart the will of the majority of Nigerians and to decide who rules them. The will of the people in a democracy, should not be subverted based on a LEGAL TECHNICALITY. INEC, as the lawful electoral body, should have the final say on electoral matters and we all have seen how the Judiciary has made a mess of our democracy, just before the elections, with "shameful verdicts", even within a day of elections! 1 Like |

rummmy:Stop being silly! WAEC publicly displayed and PRESENTED Buhari with a copy of his WAEC results. Senator Adeleke on the other hand, is currently undergoing Prosecution for impersonation when he was caught using a young boy of less than 18yrs to sit and write WAEC Exams for him, as recently as 2018. If not that our Judiciary has become bastardized and commoditized by the likes of Walter Onnighen (former CJN), criminals and fraudsters like Adeleke should have been sentenced to jail I stead of allowing him to attempt to use Governorship IMMUNITY to shield himself. This charade we are practicing in Nigeria is not what Democracy is about. 1 Like |

Obj never respect the stand of any court but he always respect the wish of the party, Now that BUHARI play transparent policy in judicial department then PDP is playing money politics calling it mandate , APC as a party should raise up and act fact to stop these useless mandate claiming before these people claim presidency . INEC as a body has rules that guides his conduct in an election, the judiciary will always judge it by that compliance. You cannot say the judiciary has become an ass to democracy where INEC that is supposed to be d custodian of the rules flouts them to favour a party. This is a big lesson for INEC going forward.
