If you will breastfeed yourself, no need for the sterilizer but If you would need help feeding your baby i.e expressing into a bottle so anyone else can feed, you might need one. Sterilizing kit is not compulsory to be honest, I just watched a series of YouTube videos online by paediatricians who analyzed it. Water that’s safe for you to drink is safe for your baby as well.

Just too many germs and diseases in our environment. And the warm weather makes it easy for bacteria etc to multiply. It's the reason why if you forget to warm food in Nigeria it will go bad within a few hours...

Sterilisation of items that come in contact with milk is a necessity in Nigeria. Especially when items have small parts like feeding bottles, breast pumps. If one uses cup and spoon you can get away without sterilising since you're certain soap and water are reaching every corner of the up and spoon.
