A suspected thief got more than he bargained for after being caught during a robbery operation in Delta state.

According to reports, the suspect and his gang members said to be about seven in number, stormed Sapele area to steal phones from victims.

His accomplices fled during a pursuit by the residents as only the suspect was apprehended in the process.

He was beaten mercilessly before being transferred to the police by vigilante members.
