Thank God for the grace to post my POE, being looking forward to it for almost 2yrs, we got our visas in 2017.
Left Nigeria with my 3 kids on Thursday via Delta to New York, flight was about 11 hours. Arrived about 5am, we all had to scan our passports then to d cbp officers. Wasn't asked much, Just our final destination and reason for our visit, which I replied for holiday, was also asked what I do, wc I replied, then he said have a nice holiday then we left.
Then we went to pick our bags and went to wait for our connecting flight. In all from Lagos ,I thank God for favour. Enjoying the holiday so far, hoping for a lovely 4wks.

Nice one... Enjoy your Holiday.

Book your flight straight to Houston, don't give yourself unnecessary headache. Emirates has reasonable prices, check wakanow.

Many thanks to folks on this platform. I have gleaned alot from you guys who just post things freely that should cost money. May God almighty bless you guys abundantly. My recent POE was Boston, March 17 from LHR. The encounter was maybe 2mins.

CBP: stretches hand for passport
Me: hands passport with a hello.
CBP: what are you here for?
Me: workshop
CBP: how long?
Me: 5 or 6 days?
CBP: looks at me with that smh feeling (disclaimer: I was first tired and had to psychologically position myself to enjoy the mandatory workshop as I was supposed to be on holidays).
CBP: will 15days be okay for you?
Me: sure.
CBP: stamps passport and hands it over to me

I did notice that landing cards were no longer filled in flight. Seems alot has changed since 2016.

Were you stamped in for 15 days or the normal six months?

Ah, more than enough. I left on the 6th day (one day after the workshop ended). I'm in Nigeria enjoying my holidays. It's a multiple entry Visa. So if a valid need arises for travel, I can always do that.

How about if they were pregnant during the interview and never declared same, or if the visa was issued for another reason which they never honored but decided to send the now "worthless" change of intent letter to inform the embassy of their birthing plan, and worse still, how about if they didn't even declare child birth at the POE to the CBP? None of the above situation is good, it can turn their 221g follow-up interview to a disastrous situation by current standards at the embassy. When we hear their exact story starting from the visa interview itself, we may then be able to contribute to the matter at hand..

@omoBendel24 My wife and I saw your scenario play out in reality last week. Our dropbox renewal was scheduled for 221g on a Saturday. We got there and one couple who had birthed in the US were struggling to explain why they did so on a B1/B2. By the time they were done, husband and wife were each banned for life from the US. It was a terrible sight to behold the look of stupefied shock on their faces.

Nope! Banned for LIFE! cry

We heard the consular officer correctly. They took some benefits on account of the child and absconded without paying.

Then the wife was one of those aggressive types. She raised her voice and gestured dramatically at the consular officer as if she could force the decision in her favour by her sheer power and might. All other applicants on the queue paused to watch the drama unfold. It was really a terrible sight to behold. The consular officer was visibly annoyed and we were just behind them.

Our travel intentions were very legitimate but we did not even want to risk suffering transferred aggression so we left the queue to ease ourselves at that point and we did not come back until we had finished singing like 2 or 3 Sacred Songs and Solos in the toilet by which time we were sure that we won't be assigned to the same upset consular officer. The actions of that couple were truly fraudulent and they may never have been discovered if their Dropbox application was automatically renewed. Sometimes, we Nigerians have a knack for making things very difficult for those coming behind us. undecided

it's not advisable for you to stay that long in U.S... it maybe difficult for you to renew your visa when the time comes... 3 months is a bit okay.

good day mr seyi,

i intend to travel to the US in july for 6weeks. hope it won’t be considered as overstaying?

I see no issue at all given the fact that, you've visited U.S before and did not overstay, make sure you get a letter from your office stating you have 6 weeks free and that you will be in U.S for those duration.
Good luck.

You know ticket prices are quite high at the moment and people prefer to learn from this thread and not give back to people who needed to learn.
As per your trip, I believe your intending Airline is Emirates and if it will be flying from Abuja I believe the Emirates Connect is possible, if from Lagos I think you should do the 3 days transit.
By the way which City are you flying to?
