THE MINIMUM SHOULD BE HND LOWER CREDIT AND BSC SECOND CLASS LOWER.

There should be no masters degrees.

Those who have masters degrees should go to the educational institution and take up lecturer jobs.

There should also be no age discrimination age should be left out.

For supervisory and managerial roles, Masters is necessary.

If you bagged a good Master degree, you should be a better thinker and decision maker.

Mods catapult this thread to the front page. Good move by such a fine lawyer.

I implore the federal government to halt the recruitment process and mandate NNPC to start all over, this time the criteria should not be discriminatory or segregatory.

Halt the process and you don't hear of it the next 10 years. That's if the process hasn't been concluded already

You guys are funny, graduate trainee positions are meant to recruit from a pool of fresh graduates, and no top organisation will make its requirement the very bare minimum.

And hey, these criterias help bring down the number of candidates a recruiter has to deal with. Las Las they can't take everyone, so why for example should they have to deal with the extra cost? And before you take your frustration out on me, I have been a victim of this so called age discrimination. But the reality on ground, has ensured we now have to live with these things.

Define "FRESH GRADUATES", there are individuals that haven't graduated and are 30years old

That's not all, graduates with 2nd class lower must have masters degree... Omygudness who does that?
Just make the minimum requirements 2nd Class Upper like that of the Nigerian AirForce it sounds more decent and understandable.

They use that to screen out people because there would be too many applicants

Yes, and some are fresh out of school at the age of 45, so? They would also qualify as fresh graduates by some loose definition, wouldn't they? The point is they want to make it tight so they deal with less number of people.
Anyway, this is probably the highest age cap you'd find for graduate trainee positions in Any organisation.

I still don't understand why our Nigeria employers still lack global approach to employing workers. What is all these rubbish of first-class, second class bla bla bla. Even though the minister of petroleum might not be a graduate but still distinguished himself through other training and experiences. Nigeria employers should stop seeing applicants and workers as refugees. They should put into consideration the level of education in the country and how people pay through their noses to pass exams before setting out the job description. Is it easy to fund professional or master degree programs without job?
Indirectly they're saying those that attended state universities shud not apply. Because it's hard getting first-class, or 2:1 in those schools compare to federal and private. This is real discrimination!

So systematic discrimination (ageism) is okay when it is "fair"?

Graduates, let us stop applying for those high profile jobs because you will not be considered unless you have a God-father. Let us learn how to make millions of naira as profit from exporting products to foreign countries. Click on the first link on my signature for details.
But I have a God father, who is the God father of god-fathers, and the Who is Who of who-is-whos... He is JESUS CHRIST. With him I can apply anywhere believing that if it so pleases him, I will be a confirmed staff of NNPC.

Lawyer seeking cheap attention to advertise himself. Among all the oppressions the poor and less privilege are facing on daily basis including those behind bars for years who have never been arraigned in the court, it is NNPC recruitment criteria that attracts his fancy.

Some nairalanders are dummy for praising mediocrity. I am a lawyer and I know these type of men. They have only their interest at heart.

Besides, it is prerogative of NNPC HR to invite whoever they want for interview. They may even choose to discard applications of all 1st class applicants and invite 2nd class lower. So what's the purpose of dragging a recruiter to court when he or she could still discard all applicants above the age they require.

You are a lawyer, which of the injustices have you fought? Someone fights one injustice and you are complaining. Should he fight all the injustices at a time? Why can't you fight the one you can and let him fight another and the society gets better for it?

Major problem with Africans.... Nigerians mainly. Pull him down syndrome (PhD). You can imagine what would happen if all these so-called lawyers man up and pick one major issue and sue the government/ relevant institution.....why won't there be transformation?

Don't mind him jare, so if all the organizations are putting age limit in their recruitment exercise, where do they expect people who graduated above 30 to work. it's not fair.

As they both go for Nysc after tertiary studies.

Why come and discriminate at the point of employment.

Who are you oga?

The graduate trainee age bracket is fair sef.28 for graduate trainee shocked

KPMG recruits fresh graduate not more than 26
Total and mobil 2.1 and first class and so on.
Different organizations with different criterias

I have seen a job post advising degree holders not to apply.

We all know they did that to reduce the number of applicants.

Good luck with you and your lawyer on the case.
