So business men should avoid giving out their account numbers? You don't know when d money hits your account so you implicated already. It's not like we have a rapid response line to d police one can dail when facing this kinda criminal activity.

If the useless SARS and anti kidnapping want to do a clean job, they will know that guy is innocent. They can use his information to track the culprits in their next operations. I know its hard to believe him, but If they carry out thorough investigation, the criminals will be apprehended. But This is naija where the innocent is punished for the offense of the guilty.

Stupid country, how long will these tactice and others continue before police and government will leave innocent citizens alone and realize that no sane person will use his business account for a kidnapping ransome?

They always know the truth but will want to obtain from innocent citizens. Atimes they police is the real culprit that works with the kidnappers and other evil gangs

If they want their money back, let them bring an account number and you simply transfer the money back. Or call your account officer for the account number that they used to send the money and send it back.

As far back as 2015, fraudsters were using this method to cash out so by now no one should be falling for such.

Somebody transferred money to you and you paid them back, in cash.

How can the police track them when he gave them untraceable cash?

Why didn't he return the money by transferring through the bank? By going to withdraw cash and give them, he proved to be part of them. So no, it can't happen to wise people. Only greedy people. Do you think he would do this if he had been told to return the entire money?

Refund must always be the reverse of the reception. If you paid in cash, you are refunded in cash. If you paid through wire transfer, you shall be paid back via wire transfer.

This is how they do things where I live, and this simple policy avoids you to fall for such scams.

That's why you need to run that your small or big company just like a way standard organization runs it when it comes online fund transfer. Best way to deal with that is give 7 to 12 business days for any refund and its to be transferred to the account you got the payment from. If the sender is giving you another account details, just talk to your bank to help you reverse the payment as you have no knowledge of such transaction.

What of if the kidnappers requests for cash transaction instead of account to account...in that case it wudnt b reversed...and also , they might hold on to the victim till they get their cash b4 he is released, therefore making the car dealer still a victim even if he decides to hold on to the cash for 2weeks b4 realising it to the kidnappers
