The name gambling isn't appropriate for sports betting, it's a trade called betting. You can liken it to a man who buys goods for sale, he stands a chance to loose or gain.

I will agree if you say the risk involved in both trades differs but that doesn't make the name gambling appropriate for sports betting.

Make no mistake about it.

It can actually be a good source of income if done properly.
I don't see how it is different from forex trading or crypto trading. They are all speculative ventures with varying degrees of risk.
