Stupid citizens. How else did you think they were going to get funds to pay the new minimum wage?

Nigeria generates enough revenue already. Cut down the cost of governance!

The zombies that voted for them in the northern part do not pay taxes, while the zombies that voted for them in the south did not have a rethink before voting.

If you did not vote in the just concluded elections, then you are to be blamed for this.

South East and South South did themselves a great disservice for the low turnout PDP recorded in 2019...

There's hope because tribunal can still salvage Nigerians from this shambolic , vision less, despotic, dictatorial and totalitarian government.
Ur case na sorry....gbe body e

First off, many of the South-south and south eastern states had the lowest number of pvcs compared to the north as INEC deliberately favoured the north in that regard. More so, there were more cancelled and disrupted votes in the aforementioned regions so it’s not a function of low turnout, we already knew that the election would be massively rigged

They will pretend to increase the minimum wage, to make the people feel they have them at heart, but will use tax to take it away! APC=Scam!
We don't pay taxes in Nigeria. Every Government in the world is a corporate robber. They give you with right hand and take it back with the left hand. It's not all about the APC. Stop spreading hate. Footballers, musician, actors, actresses etc try to avoid tax some even go to jail. So don't blame the APC. The American and UK we look up to as god pay more taxes than we do.

Real signs of a clueless government. But in Nigeria people always turn a blind eye to the truth just because of sentiments.

Has anyone noticed that the government has gone mute on its diversification agenda. All of a sudden the 2billion dollars wasted in lake Chad for oil exploration has been wasted on fruitless venture despite opinions that it was a waste they called us ipob.

Almost everywhere all over port Harcourt you would see dozens pf good businesses which employed hundreds of Nigerians been shut down and the workers layed of with no alternative by Efcc and Amcon.

Buhari is neither a business man or an economist. He knows about governance but doesn't know about the economic aspect of it.

Nigeria is having fund issue instead of cutting cost of governance or reopening closed businesses but instead making sure all the moneys gotten from the business is paid into the Fg account he is busy increasing tax. Last week it was Vat being increased now tax sad.

I dae vex

Shut ur mouth! APC are giving out hate, hate is what they will get in return. If they are not devilishly minded, why would they increase tax,the same time they are increasing the wage?

Hahahahaha.... indeed. That is what you get from a government bereft of ideas.... just tax, tax, tax... but the silver lining here is that taxation brings about influence and empowers the 'taxee' grin... to hold the 'taxer' accountable. Nigerians should understand that it is the path to development as responsibility is universally tied symbiotically to reward.

So prosperity may not comedirectly and immediately from increased taxation as we are still pouring water into a basket called the Federal Government but the anger at seeing the efforts go wasting is what ultimately spurs reforms. If Ms. Zainab thinks it will all be a jolly tax and spend ride then she will be in for a shocker. This pressure will definitely catalyse revolutionary rumblings.

Oga I read all the comments before I got to yours which happen to be the last and I was disappointed in you, when you visit a certain restaurant and they give you the food you ordered after eating to your satisfaction, upon asking about the bill and you are presented with it you will be like wow high sha but las las the food make sense sha and was good that will console u.

In the same vein this countries you mentioned above have successfully used the the revenue generated from tax to better the lives of thier citizenry, in the provision of basic and infractuructural amenities, is it the hospitals, roads, water system to name but a few but can you say the same of your darling nation Nigeria ...pls dont play party politics here cos I hate when people choose turn a blind eye to the truth cos of party affiliation both parties who have ruled this nation have failed woefully in providing the above .

I close with this, I was listened to a message by the founder of KICC Matthew Ashimolowo, and this is what he said I quote " the south African local airport he saw couldn't be compared to most international airport in America and some European countries" can you beat ...in terms of development.

It is people that think like you that makes the govt to be misbehaving always, thinking they are doing the right thing. why not make use of the revenue generated before for the main purpose it is mearnt for, and get a functional tax system in place and see if things won't go well.

God bless Nigeria.

What's important is that they are pro- business policies.

I would suggest a reduction in corporate taxes to 15% but enforce collection.

They should also ensure collection of VAT. Present only 25% of potential VAT revenue is collected. With corporates taxes, it's far worse.

Simply ensuring collection of the above 2 taxes can increase government revenue by 1% of GDP.. For Nigeria, it's the tax base stupid.
dude nobody will complain about taxes if the money being collected is actually used to better the country. It's like putting a toll gate where the road is bad. These people are just looking for more money to continue servicing their flamboyant life styles. Nigerians are the most coward set of people ever. Government after government keep imposing levies on nigeria without actually doing anything. All we do is just to fume and rant for a few days and then start paying the levies. If not, tell me why nigerians keep paying electricity bills but we don't have that electricity.

I get your point bro I'm not partisan for now that's the easiest way to support the budget, oil is not moving, we don't manufacture enough goods here to sustain our Economy. Even if we want to diversify it'll take some time before we start making profit. Our only lifeline is oil and it's not moving like it used to.

We'll get there, you're not the only one in the situation. For now increasing the Vat is one of the easiest way to fund the budget.

South south and south east even tried. They fought a good fight. Largely, they were disenfranchised BUT THEY STILL DELIVERED but South West and North Central that have the figures were just annoying. Adamawa where a PDP governor won was were they said APC presidential candidate won. Kano is already regretting their actions. THE TRUTH IS NIGERIA DESERVES THE RUBBISH BEEN THROWN AT THEM. Let them increase everything and anything. Nigerians need to suffer well well so that next time, when there is need to change leadership, they rise to the occasion and not let some selfish people have their way

You're the one filled with hate. Oil market is not moving, our economy is not fully diversified. Vat is the easiest way to support the budget and cut down the cost of Governance of which both Apc and Pdp leaders won't allow. I'm not your enemy the PDP and Apc leaders are your enemies.
