Gunmen attacked travellers along Abuja-Kaduna highway on Monday evening. According to reports, some motorists were allegedly kidnapped by the gunmen who brought the expressway to a standstill.

The attackers also robbed travellers of their possessions after forcibly stopping vehicles at high speed, causing several crashes in the process.

The Nigerian Army later responded to emergency by dispatching about three truckloads of soldiers, according to Yakubu Mohammed, who witnessed the incident.

It was claimed that the kidnappers operated for about 30 minutes on the highway without intervention of security agents.

To dey even travel these days dey fear me o.
That was how one guy single handedly robbed up to 15 vehicle's last year with toy gun before he was caught.
What gave him the mind to use toy gun to rob? cuz he's knows that our security forces won't respond to distress call immediately.
If u even tell a police that they are robbing on the high way or anywhere, he will first ask u some stupid questions like what type of gun the armed robbers are using as if he gave u microscope to view it.

omo this very road eehhhhn na terror ooo tho i have bin plying the road steady but nothing has ever happened to me my advise to those plying this route is to always leave or travel early in the morning the safest time to ply this route is between 8 to 11 any other time no Oyo

Army and Police should deploy drones, and helicopters to the affected road....and in coordination with a Rapid response squad...this could curb the problem in days.
