Sorry to say, Nigerian youths not knowing the anything about boat piloting is very disheartening.

This level of underexposure and pervasive ignorance can not move Nigeria forward
So this knowledge makes you exposed and very knowledge.

Lol. Funniest post I've seen in a while.

Look in the mirror for daftness because only daft and ignorant people conflates and equates people's official jobs with petty and irrelevant politics.

You are not only daft, you are also very shallow and grossly ignorant.

How do you gain knowledge without exposure to knowledge via reading, googling and other learning tools?

Very senseless and meaningless comment.

Hommie, your idea that someone not knowing about pilots means the person is not exposed and ignorant is quite silly.

You have one piece of knowledge and automatically feel like the smartest person on Nairaland. Big joke.

Of course, shallow and unintelligent people usually can not articulate anything because they are void of basic vocabulary.

After 11 years, the NPA Simulation Facility comes alive in Apapa, Lagos.

In a bid to conserve foreign exchange, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has partnered its joint venture partners to build a simulation centre for the training of pilots locally.

Speaking at the inauguration of the simulation centre in Lagos yesterday, the Managing Director of the NPA, Hadiza Bala-Usman, said training of pilots locally would save the federal government over $1 million (N366 million) annually spent in training pilots in the United Kingdom, other Europe countries and the United States of America.

The Simulator will be used to train pilots and for research and other purposes. The Simulator has software that realistically simulates the behavior of a vessel and its systems in a simulated maritime environment and has an interface that allows the person using it to control the ship & interact with its simulated surroundings.

The idea which was conceived 11 years ago has the Honourable Minister of Transportation Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi commissioned the NPA Simulation Facility.

According to NPA, the Centre has in the last 8 months trained 98 Nigerian pilots that hitherto would have been sent abroad, saving the country a significant amount of foreign exchange. With this commission, the Authority is expected to save an average of One Million US Dollars ($1,000,000) annually from the training pilots overseas yearly.

These are images of the centre and also from the commissioning in Apapa, Lagos.

The project was conceived under the PDP GOVERNMENT, just as the TSA, BVN, Abuja Light Rail, Lagos-Ibadan Railway, 2nd Niger Bridge, Ajaokuta-Warri Railway and many others. Unfortunately we didn't complete any of them in our 16-year rule , only for Buhari to start commissioning them within 3 years of his government and now claiming one nonsense achievement

As usual, we should always thank and praise the people who looted the funds and abandoned the projects and denied us progress and development for decades because they are the good people, but the bad people are the ones that actually did not loot your money and completed the projects that you are now benefiting from

This is how crooked, backward and mentally corrupt many of you are, I just hope and pray that people like you don't end up in similar looting stealing and abandoning projects positions since you think such crooked, corrupt and unpatriotic behavior is a good thing and what Nigerians deserve.

Federal ministers don't apportion or unilaterally send federal projects to their own states, federal projects are apportioned and approved via FEC (Federal Executive Council) in Abuja.

Wike is the governor so tell Wike to send his federal project wish list to Abuja for consideration.

Btw, your username, how ironic

Here lies my problem, everybody is ignorant about something. The fact someone doesn't know about one thing doesn't make you better than the person.

Well I guess you can call yourself ignorant as you don't know what I just said.

Bye kiddo.
