My cousin had a son for ex husband who's from another tribe, region and religion. The guy is now married with his own kids and despite getting to know his father's village and people, he hasn't change his surname from ours and hasn't returned to his people. This is even someone who had a good relationship with the father before he died. He is even the most senior grand child and the third in line in my uncle's family, only behind my uncle and my male cousin. He is the ultimate successor in the making and has our full support. He can't go back to his father's family and start dragging things with them when no one is dragging anything with him here.
