It comes down to self control at the moment of being angered , be frank how will you feel if you gave someone all the money asked money to renovate your house and the person failed to do it and when you asked him about it he said you can as well report him to the police and these same person goes round town with lies to try to tarnish your image?I have gone thru such and all I did was patience and I smile to greet the person when ever we meet, you can see the fear and restlessness in him. I thank God I am not like him and for patience and wisdom.

As 4 me, I don't ' lend ppl money with d mind of 'lending' them money. Whenever I lend them money, I already have d mindset that d borrower MAY LIKELY default in payment.
I know of a lad whos owing months in rent + Nepa bills + Security levies. Niqqa man still had guts to tell his landlady:"after all, Nigeria sef is owing" "other tenants in other houses are also owing"..... grin

As such, i lend whatever I know won't pain me in case a default occurs. If u ask to borrow (let's say) #20k, I may give u 5k (even if I have d whole 20k on me. If u pay back good, if not, nothing spoil, I take it as a seed sown into ur life.

You can imagine what pple's attitude to paying debt can cause. God will help me to remove emotions whenever somebody approaches me to lend money especially family members and close friends.

I have such persons owing me close to 2 million Naira going close to three years now with excuses of family challenges. I know how much I would have gained if I invested this money.

Nigerians have a general bad attitude to paying debts and if you don't give, you maybe considered wicked. I just have to start hardening my heart to avoid problems with such close loved ones.

Attempting to seize some people with temperament properties can lead to serious fisticuff fight which could along lead to death. Best thing is to be the better man and leave everything to God and at the least make family members and friends that the cheater still respect know about the incident.
